tutto risolto,
ho contattato direttamente lo sviluppatore, funziona tutto benissimo
il problema era legato al fatto che non era chiaro che occorreva attivare lo
snap al segmento.

Buongiorno,
il nuovo strumento Trim/extend continua a non funzionare sotto win10 -
OSGe4W

allego due video, il primo è quello dello sviluppatore (interfaccia nera)
che trovate qui: https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/pull/8429

il secondo è il mio, dove dimostro che non funziona sotto win
