Thanks, but could this problem be fixed for the plugin so that regular
users can benefit of the fix just by upgrading the plugin?

 2.1) Source:
 http://trac.osgeo.org/qgis/browser/trunk/qgis/python/plugins/fTools/tools/doGeometry.py
 2.3) Adjust in code:
 2.3.1) In line 354 put:
 geometryTypeWriter = vprovider.geometryType() - 3
 2.3.2) In line 358 change:
  vprovider.geometryType()  to geometryTypeWriter
If you haven't already opened the ticket, don't bother, this has now
 been fixed in r15451.

[Qgis-user] QGIS thematic issue

2011-03-14 Thread Yves Jacolin
Hello,

I am testing QGIS-mapserver and I have one small issue with QGIS. Here is an
image to see what I am talking about :
http://img852.imageshack.us/i/qgismssemioissue1.png/

There are two problems:
1. when I display geometry among scale and label, label are always dipslayed
even if the geometry are not shown. Does it possible to hide label when
geometry are hidden? see big circle in picture
2. is it possible to manage the order of the geometry stack in another way
that order data (in postgis or shp)? see smal circle in picture

thanks,

Y.

[Qgis-user] font settings on mac (Fwd: Comments on the QGIS map composer)

2011-03-14 Thread maning sambale
Reposting the issue below.

I'm using qgis 1.6 0n mac 10.5 and instead of the usual font window, I
see the mac font window is used in the map composer (see the sample
image below). I tried changing the font for several map elements
(text window, grid font size) but I can't change it to the default
Lucida Grande size 13

4. On a mac, Scale font options uses the mac font option window
instead of the usual QGIS font option window (see image link).

Hi Yves,

ad 1) are you using the old or the new labeling? With the new labeling
(attention: the settings are not in the layer properties but in a
separate toolbar!) features that aren't visible due to a scale range,
are not labeled. So switching to the new labeling should solve your
problem.

ad 2) yes - activate symbol levels in the symbolization/style
dialogue. After clicking the button, a separate dialogue appears where
you can enable them in a checkbox

I believe Yves uses the new labelling and wants to hide unwanted labels.
AFAIK there's no such possibility yet, you need to create a new text attribute
with desired labels only.

I think I am using the new labelling feature (ABC logo with a blue
line). I

did not use the label tab in layer property. (I am using QGIS 1.6)

yes - this is the new label engine.

I tried with QGIS trunk version. Labels disappear when features are not
drawn due to scale ranges. So, I cannot reproduce your issue with the
current trunk version.

I can't find how it is working, I have two columns layer 0 and
layer 1 what
does it mean ? I have to choose some number: 1 is the top or the

layer?

Normally, you just have to enable symbol levels with the checkbox. In
many cases, the symbol level order proposed by QGIS will be ok. The
number of levels depend on the number of levels you define in the symbol
definition. E.g. if you added three lines on top of each other, you will
have symbol levels 0 to 2 (3 levels).

0 ... bottom layer
1 ... next layer
2 ... top layer

Does it help?

completly, I suppose there is a bug for QGIS 1.6 because each time I enable
the symbol levels and choose my levels, when I come back to the dialog box,
symbol levels is disabled! Is it a known bug?

Thanks Andreas,

[Qgis-user] Projection WGS_1984_Complex_UTM_Zone_26N: qgis crashes

2011-03-14 Thread Agustin Lobo
Hi!
I've been given a shape file with the following prj:
PROJCS[WGS_1984_Complex_UTM_Zone_26N,GEOGCS[GCS_WGS_1984,DATUM[D_WGS_1984,SPHEROID[WGS_1984,6378137.0,298.257223563]],PRIMEM[Greenwich,0.0],UNIT[Degree,0.0174532925199433]],PROJECTION[Transverse_Mercator_Complex],PARAMETER[False_Easting,50.0],PARAMETER[False_Northing,0.0],PARAMETER[Central_Meridian,-27.0],PARAMETER[Scale_Factor,0.9996],PARAMETER[Latitude_Of_Origin,0.0],UNIT[Meter,1.0]]

that makes qgis crash leaving the following message in the console:

ERROR 6: No translation for Transverse_Mercator_Complex to PROJ.4
format is known.

Apparently, there is no difference with the parameters I was geting
until now for the same type of layers:
PROJCS[WGS_1984_UTM_Zone_26N,GEOGCS[GCS_WGS_1984,DATUM[D_WGS_1984,SPHEROID[WGS_1984,6378137.0,298.257223563]],PRIMEM[Greenwich,0.0],UNIT[Degree,0.0174532925199433]],PROJECTION[Transverse_Mercator],PARAMETER[False_Easting,50.0],PARAMETER[False_Northing,0.0],PARAMETER[Central_Meridian,-27.0],PARAMETER[Scale_Factor,0.9996],PARAMETER[Latitude_Of_Origin,0.0],UNIT[Meter,1.0]]

but the WGS_1984_Complex_UTM_Zone_26N is actually listed in
http://resources.esri.com/help/1200/arcgisexplorer/componenthelp/index.html#//000302tw00

1. As qgis crashes, can I safely modify the prj file and use
WGS_1984_UTM_Zone_26N? (As far as I can tell, yes, but would like
confirmation)
2. Does anyone know why this WGS_1984_Complex_UTM_Zone_26N has been
introduced?
3. Are we going to have support for WGS_1984_Complex_UTM_Zone_26N in
QGIS in the near future?

Thanks
