[Qgis-user] Licensing information on QGIS homepage is confusing ......
Hi, the homepage (http://www.qgis.org/index.php) states QGIS is licensed under GNU General Public License. But when I click the hyperlink of GNU General Public License, I am directed to the LGPL-2.0 page (http://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/lgpl-2.0.html). Therefore, I do some search on the mailing lists and source on github, then found that QGIS is released under GPL-3.0 in general now. I think the license hyperlink on the homepage should be corrected to avoid confusion. BTW, I can't find GPL-3.0 text in source while I read QGIS is released under the GNU Public License (GPL) Version 3 in README. It also confused me for a while. Or do I miss the file containing GPL-3.0 text in the source? -- View this message in context: http://osgeo-org.1560.n6.nabble.com/Licensing-information-on-QGIS-homepage-is-confusing-tp5036072.html Sent from the Quantum GIS - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
[Qgis-user] Spatialite : problems with spatial views
Hello all, When I load a valid spatial view from Qspatialite in QGis, I have some problems : 1. If the spatialite table on which depend the spatial view have a spatial index, the features are not visible on Qgis after loading. To fix this problem, I have to remove the spatial index before. 2. After loading a spatialite table or a spatial view in Qgis, the attributes windows show the columns and all the row but all the values are ERROR. But the 'Identify features' button work fine and show the correct values of each feature. 3. Only one label is created when labelling a spatial view. There is no problem with a spatialite table. I want to submit bugs but are they for Qgis, Qspatialite or spatialite ? Are there workarounds ? Re: [Qgis-user] Spatialite : problems with spatial views
I had the same problem as you, all attributes showed ERROR in the attribute table. I asked here: http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/32592/how-to-open-a-spatialite-non-spatial-view-in-qgis And was directed to the following page on Spatialite Cookbookhttp://www.gaia-gis.it/spatialite-3.0.0-BETA/spatialite-cookbook/html/sp-view.html. There, I found out that, for correctly open a spatialite spatial view in QGIS, I would need to have a column named ROWID. See if it helps. Re: [Qgis-user] Radiotelemetry triangulation data into QGIS
It's very simple. You need any point layer with at least two numerical fields: one with id of the fix, the second with bearing in degrees. For example: x;y;bearing;fix_id 584846;4272513;0;1 584426;4272770;85;1 586034;4272041;265;2 584709;4271246;10;2 582800;4273011;112;2 The fix 1 has two points only, so it's simple. The fix 2 has three points, so a triangle with centroid will be found. Re: [Qgis-user] [QGIS 1.8.0] Bug split feature
2013/2/22 Julien Drouin-Bouffard julien.droui...@gmail.com: And if I don't want to use Master ? It seems to be some risks for beginners like me at least My only intent was to provide feedback about the status and reproducibility of the issue, not a fix or a workaround. Anyway, in my experience the master version works almost all the time better than the stable one. The risks you take depend on how integrated is QGIS in your workflow. If you depend on something which gets broken with an update you'll be in trouble. There are some things which can help to keep the risk under control: - Backups. - Install master version alongside the stable one (easy in windows with osgeo4w). - Do not update daily. Specifically do not update when deadlines are putting pressure on you. Following these guidelines and some common sense I've been happily using QGIS master in real work for years. Not that I'm recommending it to everyone, just pointing out that it can be done under certain circumstances.
