I tried to re-install it but nothing changed.

Re: [Qgis-user] Intersect Performance

2013-09-24 Thread Bjorn Nyberg
Hmm maybe i will give PostGIS a try, I am simply mystified why the quickest
GRASS intersect should take ~47min compared to ~3min in ArcGIS. SAGA was
the quickest for me at 15min although that produced the wrong results (did
not intersect all the lines).
Cheers anyways,

The problem that was reported is caused by the r.drain algorithm

suppose that a batch file would help me.

I am trying to see how to produce such a file for QGIS Lisbon but I’m having
no luck to reach (understandable) information in that regard.

May someone give me some hint on how to do it?

All the best,

PS: I have read something about SEXTANTE or OSGeo4w for batch modes, but I
really could not understand that.

Re: [Qgis-user] SAGA GIS dependency problem

2013-09-24 Thread Pedro Venâncio
Hi Matteo,

The problem is that ubuntugis-unstable provides GDAL 1.10, which has changes in
libgdal package. Until GDAL 1.9.x, this package was called libgdal1. Starting
from GDAL 1.10.x, this package became libgdal1h.

Most likely, SAGA 2.0.8 that is in ubuntugis-unstable was compiled with GDAL
1.9.x, taking libgdal1 as dependency. And Johan PPA should be under the same
conditions.

Thus, there are two alternatives. Or downgrading to GDAL 1.9.x (for example,
with ubuntugis-stable PPA), or we have to wait for someone to compile SAGA with
GDAL 1.10.x.

Re: [Qgis-user] Oracle - QGIS connection

2013-09-24 Thread Jonathan Moules
Hi Duarte,
Cunning, I'd not played with the Python console before.

The QGIS path is the same as the system one, though with extra stuff
pre-pended - Oracle is in there just fine:

'c:\Admin\Apps\Progs\QGISDU~1\apps\grass\grass-6.4.3\bin;c:\Admin\Apps\Progs\QGISDU~1\apps\msys\bin;c:\Admin\Apps\Progs\QGISDU~1\bin;
 *c:\admin\apps\oracle32\product\11.2.0\client_1\bin*;C:\windows\system32;C:\windows;C:\windows\System32\Wbem;C:\windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\Program

 Files\Intel\WirelessCommon\;c:\Admin\Apps\Progs\QGISDU~1\apps\msys\bin;c:\Admin\Apps\Progs\QGISDU~1\apps\Python27\Scripts;c:\Admin\Apps\Progs\QGISDU~1\apps\qgis\bin;c:\Admin\Apps\Progs\QGISDU~1\apps\grass\grass-6.4.3\lib'

Trying TNS ping from within QGIS worked just fine too:

Attempting to contact (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (COMMUNITY = wcctcp.world)
 (PROTOCOL = TCP) (Host = co-gistest-li2) (Port = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA =
 (SID = gistest) (GLOBAL_NAME = co_gistest.world)))
 OK (0 msec)

If I try and cheat and change my host from co_gistest to the actual
machine name: co-gistest-li2 - I get back an ORA-12514 instead where it
says it doesn't know of the given host. But if I enter random gibberish it
goes back to a ORA-12154.

Very confusing (but it is Oracle).

Jonathan

and it works fine. In the past I also had to rename the oci.dll (or you
can remove it) from c:\osgeo4w\bin because it conflicted with the oci.dll
in %ORACLE_HOME%. Btw, we are connecting to Oracle 11.2.0 using OS
authentication.

Trying TNS ping from within QGIS worked just fine too:

Attempting to contact (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (COMMUNITY =
 wcctcp.world) (PROTOCOL = TCP) (Host = co-gistest-li2) (Port = 1521))
 (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = gistest) (GLOBAL_NAME = co_gistest.world)))

 Hi List,

I've done a lot more dabbling and it simply refuses to work. I've now got
to the point where I've installed the Administrator install of the Oracle
client. Both QGIS and the client are 32bit. But no matter what I keep
 getting the Ora-12154 error.

If I try tnsping, it can resolve the name just fine, so I'm not clear why
 it is failing with QGIS.

I don't remember what I did previously to get it working but I'm sure it
wasn't anything like this much trouble.

 Anyone?

 Thanks,

HI Paulo

I'm not familiar with the MacBook and configuring QGIS on it, but the problem
is that the contour plugin uses a python module called matplotlib, and that in
turn uses a python module called pyparsing. The error message is saying that
the pyparsing module is missing.
Unfortunately I cannot help further than that. The pyparsing module is
available at http://pyparsing.wikispaces.com/Download+and+Installation
but how you install it depends on how your python installation is set up.

When you have fixed this there may be another couple of python dependencies you
may need to install, listed at
http://matplotlib.org/users/installing.html

Good luck

The same problem is on Windows 7 64 bit (osgeo4w installation) and

I noticed, that error is related with shape type (if shapetype ==

 problem
is and how to solve it...

Also, on my 13 inch MacBook Pro, It is telling me I have four invalid plugins:

all of the three buttons (Upgrade all, Uninstall plugin, and Reinstall plugin)

Install my matplotlib package. When you do that, make sure to read the readme
- I discovered the pyparsing requirement at the last minute of packaging, so
you need to install it in the Terminal.

For the plugins, you may have leftovers from a previous 2.0 nightly dev build,
the Mac installer sometimes doesn't remove old files. Try deleting QGIS from
your Applications folder and reinstall.

Thanks William,

For the most part your suggestions did it. The only problem still there is
Processing. It claims to be installed at
/Applications/QGIS.app/Contents/MacOS/../Resources/python/plugins/processing).
It is working fine on my Lion Machine. As before, I have no way to uninstall or
reinstall it. It is telling me that pcopg2 is missing. I tried to use
easy_install to install it but it said got the following error:

unable to execute clang: No such file or directory
error: Setup script exited with error: command 'clang' failed with exit status 1

Not sure what that meant.

Like I said, it's fine on my old MacPro with Lion.

Any ideas?

Re: [Qgis-user] Matplotlib not found with Qgis 2.0.1-1 OS X

2013-09-24 Thread William Kyngesburye
I have an update coming soon to fix some packaging problems, including bundling
the required psycopg2.

I don't know what the problem is with processing, it's a standard part of QGIS,
can't be uninstalled, and can only be updated as a part of a QGIS installation.
Maybe it says it's invalid because of other packaging problems (try the update
when it's ready).

 Thanks William,

For the most part your suggestions did it. The only problem still there is
Processing. It claims to be installed at
 /Applications/QGIS.app/Contents/MacOS/../Resources/python/plugins/processing).
It is working fine on my Lion Machine. As before, I have no way to uninstall
or reinstall it. It is telling me that pcopg2 is missing. I tried to use
easy_install to install it but it said got the following error:

unable to execute clang: No such file or directory
error: Setup script exited with error: command 'clang' failed with exit
 status 1

 Not sure what that meant.

Like I said, it's fine on my old MacPro with Lion.

 Any ideas?

Install my matplotlib package. When you do that, make sure to read the
readme - I discovered the pyparsing requirement at the last minute of
packaging, so you need to install it in the Terminal.

For the plugins, you may have leftovers from a previous 2.0 nightly dev
build, the Mac installer sometimes doesn't remove old files. Try deleting
QGIS from your Applications folder and reinstall.

 Hi,

I recently upgraded Qgis to William Kyngeburye's 2.0.1-1. It is telling me
Could not find matplotlib module. Make sure matplotlib is installed. I
get this message on both my MacPro running OS X Lion and my MacBook Pro
running Mountain Lion. Is there a simple fix for this?

Also, on my 13 inch MacBook Pro, It is telling me I have four invalid
plugins: mapserver_export, osm, plugin_installer, and Processing. When I
click on them, all of the three buttons (Upgrade all, Uninstall plugin, and
Reinstall plugin) are greyed, so I can't just uninstall them. Is there
anything I can, or should, do with them? It gives me a path through the
QGIS.app package, but I don't want to delete something and have it crash
 the program.

 Thanks,

 Kurt

Re: [Qgis-user] QGIS 2.0.1 does not start on 32-bit Vista SOLVED

2013-09-24 Thread Anita Graser
Please check the existing tickets. Now that you mention it, I remember some
discussion about old plugins which made it into the installer by mistake.
Delimited text seems to be one of those.
Thanks for the feedback and best wishes

Does any of the developers read this list or should I make a ticket from
 this myself?

[Qgis-user] OS X 2.0 packages update

2013-09-24 Thread William Kyngesburye
I did a link hunt and fixed up all the link errors I could find, and took care
of some other packaging problems.

Also, Snow Leopard package is now ready.

It has been said before, but needs to be repeated. William, you rock for
maintaining the QGIS and all of the other geospatial frameworks/binaries
for OSX!

Re: [Qgis-user] Couldn't load plugin contour due an error when calling its classFactory() method

 HI Paulo

I'm not familiar with the MacBook and configuring QGIS on it, but the problem
is that the contour plugin uses a python module called matplotlib, and that
in turn uses a python module called pyparsing. The error message is saying
that the pyparsing module is missing.

Please note that the same functionality is present in several other commands,
so no
need to install it.
All the best.
