[Qgis-user] Measurement tool's changes
Dear List, In my last training I shifted to QGIS2.0.1, without homework and while using 'Measure tool' it showed Measure (OTF off). Later It was resolved by making 'OTF on' but for simplicity, I suggest to make 'Ellipsoidal' check box available in QGIS2.0 also, on 'Measure tool' window, as in previous version, so that area/length etc. may be shown without going into Project propertiesCRS projections' details. Hello Deon, For Spatialite you can check this: http://www.gaia-gis.it/spatialite-3.0.0-BETA/spatialite-cookbook/index.html#common For Postgis, here is a good place to start: http://workshops.boundlessgeo.com/postgis-intro/ To use QGIS to read Postgis and Spatialite, in the users manual, see this links: http://www.qgis.org/en/docs/user_manual/working_with_vector/supported_data.html#postgis-layers http://www.qgis.org/en/docs/user_manual/working_with_vector/supported_data.html#spatialite-layers http://www.qgis.org/en/docs/user_manual/plugins/plugins_db_manager.html Hope this helps, Alexandre On Fri, Nov 1, 2013 at 4:32 AM, Pretorius Deon - Lieutenant Colonel pretoriusd...@saps.gov.za wrote: Hi Alexandre, ** ** **1. **Thanks a lot for the info as I am new to QGIS, I will try it out. **2. **Please tell me where can I learn more about Postgis and Spatialite as well as on how to use SQL and as to what phrases to use, and how can I learn more about it. ** ** ** ** With Respect, Deon ** ** *From:* Alexandre Neto [mailto:senhor.n...@gmail.com] *Sent:* 31 October 2013 01:23 PM *To:* Pretorius Deon - Lieutenant Colonel *Cc:* qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org *Subject:* Re: [Qgis-user] Field Calculator/Python Plugins ** ** Hello Pretorius, ** ** Both field calculator and Python calculator, allows one to calculate values of columns, but does not affect the number of rows. Re: [Qgis-user] Installed locations of plugins in QGIS2.0
Hi, Some plugins have a Category tag what is exactly what you remember from 1.8. If the category is not specified, you can start from the Plugins menu/toolbar. Please note the plugin manager doesn't really know that location, it only knows a plugin category declared by its author. The category should fit appropriate menu and toolbar, so in 1.8 it was presented explicitly as Installed in XX menu/toolbar. But in fact the XX was just the category. This tag isn't mandatory, and if missing, the word Plugins was assumed. Unfortunately it wasn't reliable at all, and often was definitely confusing. So we decided to present it in more careful manner, and doesn't assume anything if it's missing. In the future we're going to find a more reliable way to indicate where to look for a plugin. One idea is a short how to start text next to the plugin decription. Re: [Qgis-user] Measurement tool's changes
I'd like to mention the visibility of the rubber band in the 2.0 version is poor in comparison with the 1.8 release. Perhaps it could be made a bit wider. Also the rubber band in 2.0 is no longer persistent and disappears whenever another command, say insert point, is selected. [Qgis-user] qgis web client - blank page but with 200 returns from apache
The qgis web client (http://54.245.123.168/maps/abwells) is giving me a blank page from my wms at http://54.245.123.168/wms/abwells?SERVICE=WMSVERSION=1.3.0REQUEST=GetCapabilities It's just a test site so nothing fancy - playing with drop shadows and such. You can use guest//guest as the user//pass. It loads fine in qgis as both a wms and wfs using the url http://54.245.123.168/wms/abwells It went blank after I got the latest zip from the qgis web client github master. Firebug in firefox looks like it fetches all the sites resources with 200 codes returned (successful). I see similar responses in the access_log for apache 2.2 on opensuse 12.3 Anything else I could provide to help trouble shoot this?
