2.2.0-3 fixes a trusty issue. And 2.4 is two weeks away.

Help!
I changed drives to get more space and Qgis 2.2 lost connection to its
files.
I got a message that I need to find the Grass installation path (GISBASE).

I did a reinstall from a fresh download from the Qgis site. Now I get the
same message that I need to select the Grass installation path (GISBASE).

I can't find it anywhere. Searched all drives.

Also: When Qgis opens after not finding the path, the original project
opens with everything twisted out of shape. The poly layers are all
square, the line layers are all straight lines from POB to POE.

Thanks!

Chuck

You probably installed to a directory with blanks (probably "Program Files") on
a disk that has short names turned off[1]. If you turn it back on, it should
work again.

[Qgis-user] HELP with tables imported from MySQL DB

2014-06-09 Thread Walter Zupa
I have a MySQL DB in which tables there are fishery data linked to a
grid previously generated.
The aim, for me, is to use updated data, stored in mysql db,
geo-referring them to the codes of the cells of a given grid.
Importing in Qgis the tables as vectors, directly from the mySQL DB, I
obtain tables. On this tables, I can't understand why, I'm not able to
apply the query, using the filter tool.

The filter doesn't work also when I join the given grid to the table
data, using the cells codes.

Giving an example, the filter used on the species column, recognized all
the different factors in the field but the result of the the query is
empty: Zero rows are selected.

How can I successfully use MySQL table as data souce in QGIS?

I tried also to use the XY tool in order to transform the table in a
shapefile, but also this solution seems not to work.

Could someone help me??

Walter

Sorry hit the send button before finishing the text...

I'm having problems using fields of the type date from Postgis in QGIS.

CREATE TABLE my_table (
gid serial primary key,
date_field date,
geom geometry(MultiPolygon,3763)
);

The field don't have any NOT NULL constraint, but when I try to update a
row leaving that field empty, I got and error saying:

Could not commit changes to layer may_table
Errors: ERROR: 1 attribute value change(s) not applied.
 Provider errors:
PostGIS error while changing attributes: ERROR: invalid input syntax for
 type date:
 LINE 1: ...my_table SET date_field='' WHERE ...

It seams that QGIS tries to insert a empty string inside the field instead
of a NULL value.

This happens both in QGIS 2.2 and master

Can anyone confirm this?

Yes, I can confirm this on QGIS master on Windows 7 writing to PostgreSQL 9.2.6
with PostGIS 2.1

Seems to be passing a blank string rather than a NULL to the date field.

You beat me to it - I was just about to write the same email...

Yes it works, I confirm, so easy, so powerful, really impressive,
thanks. As you say, just by using Raster menu to get a catalog (a
virtual raster of all rasters tiles), then to use Raster Convert from
this menu to get one of so many supported format image :). Great software.

[Qgis-user] Fwd: Possible Bug - Print Composer Save doesn't preserve status

Subject: Possible Bug - Print Composer Save doesn't preserve status
To: qgis-developer qgis-develo...@lists.osgeo.org

I looked through the Issue Tracker and didn't see anything related to
this.

I am working on a project where I am cleaning up data and then exporting
each individual layer as a vector .pdf. I configure the print composer to
my output params, etc. and then export a few layers, and then save the
project. When I return to the project, I may have a new data layer that I
want to export in the same print composer so it aligns with the previously
exported layers.

The problem is that when I open up a saved project and then open a saved
composer template (ProjectPrint Composers), the map element that I had
previously added is not there. Because there is no way that I will be able
to add the map element again and get it exactly aligned with the map
element in the last instance of the map project, I have to start the
process of exporting my layers all over again.

Is it expected that a user can save a print composer with a map element and
then return to that composer and see the map element from the previously
saved project/composer, or am I expecting something that is beyond standard
behavior?

If you think that this is a bug, I am happy to file an issue.

I am running the below version from William's OSX binaries:
