[Qgis-user] The Graphical Web Conference 2014

2014-07-08 Thread Andreas Neumann
Hi,

We would like to inform you that the early bird registration deadline
for The Graphical Web 2014 conference is due this Friday, July 11. The
conference takes place in Winchester, UK, from August 27 to 30. The
Graphical Web is the successor of the previous SVG Open conference
series. See http://www.graphicalweb.org/ for additional information.

This conference may be of interest for you, because we offer half-day
courses on QGIS, R, d3.js, WebGL, SVG and HTML5.

We compiled a very interesting list of keynotes, presentations, panels
and workshops. This year's theme is Visual Storytelling and we were
able to invite a number of interesting keynote speakers working on this
topic. We offer workshops on d3.js, SVG, HTML5, WebGL, QGIS and R. We'd
like to thank our speakers, workshop instructors and other contributors
in advance for their support. In addition we would like to thank our
sponsor: Google, Adobe, Mozilla and Tableau Software.

Looking forward to meet many of you at The Graphical Web 2014. Please
help us advertise the conference in your blogs and social media.

[Qgis-user] Visualisation of point data in a MS Access .mdb or ODBC database

2014-07-08 Thread Coen van Tooren
Dear all,

We have a large MS Access database that contains X Y of measurement
locations of traffic intensity. We have previously exported the data to CSV
and used the QGIS Delimited Text import to plot the locations. We now would
like to be plot this dat a directly in QGIS by connecting to the MS Access
mdb.

1. We have tried Add Vector layer / database / odbc which gives the
tables, but needs additionally the route Processing / Toolbox /
Geoprocessing / create vector layer to create a map.

2. As an alternative the Evis plugin connects fine and enables you to
predefine queries which show the results on the map.

In bot h solutions the problem is that after the project is saved and
re-opened the database connection has to be established again and all
queries need to be reloaded manually.

Also see this similar discussion on:
http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/9462/can-qgis-read-an-odbc-connection
/73160#73160

Our questions are:

1. Can it be live linked to the ODBC connection so that when a
project is re-opened, the layer replots all old and newly added locations
dynamically (as opposed to exporting to shapefile, which would create a
snapshot in time)?
2. Or in other words: Is there a way when re-opening the qqs project to
load the one of t he two solutions automatically (odbccreate vectorlayer or
the Evis plugin with the database connections and loading of all predefined
queries).

We appreciate all the help in advance!

Regards, Coen

[Qgis-user] Vectorized layer.

2014-07-08 Thread Ourizo Cacho

Hello everyone,

After using the raster calculator among different files, I finally
pretend to polygonize the result, directly from the Menu Bar Raster
Polygonize

The point is that I have some problems managing the resulting shapefile.
For instance I can not select features and save them as another shapefile.

Does anyone know what can be happening???. Any suggestions??.

Thanks in advance!!

Re: [Qgis-user] I can't install Taudem in Qgis 2.4.0 andd windows 8.1

2014-07-08 Thread Alexander Bruy
Hi Paulo,

are there any related messages in Processing History and Log
window? Are you able to get correct result when running TauDEM
tools directly from command line?

2014-07-08 17:11 GMT+03:00 Paulo Praça pracapa...@gmail.com:
When I run Pit removal i get the following message:

Oooops! The following output layers could not be open

 Pit Removed Elevation Grid:
 C:\Users\ppraca\AppData\Local\Temp\processing\a06fa485001847daa736f9db8c7e1bef\fel.tif

The above files could not be opened, which probably indicates that they were
not correctly produced by the executed algorithm

Checking the log information might help you see why those layers were not
 created as expected

 My setup is:

  MPICH2/OpenMPI bin directory= C:\ProgramFiles\MPICH2\bin

 and

Taudem command line tools folder= C:\OSGeo4w64\apps\Taudem5Exex64

I have installed taudem 5.0.6 version

I someone could help me .

 Thanks for your attention,

 Paulo Praça

[Qgis-user] qgis-server response to GetFeatureInfo limited only to matching layer

2014-07-08 Thread Andrea Peri
Hi,
I see the response text/html to a GetFeatureInfo in qgis-server seem
to response always a list of all the layers listed iin the
GetFeatureInfo request.
This is not for our project a useful response because
we have often all the layers listed in the getfeatureinfo.

Ths because is never know before che click of identify what is the
poygon see on the map.

The response actually return a list of ALL the layers and the user
should scroll UP/DOWN to search what is the not-empty layer in the
clicked point.

There is a setting to have returned only the not-empty layer ?

Or to have the not-emty listed on top of the other ?

Thx,

[Qgis-user] atcorr implementation in QGIS

2014-07-08 Thread Leo Kris Palao
Hi Users,

I want to run i.atcorr module in the processing toolbox but with no
success. The process throws the error/warning below.

I am processing Landsat 8 data. I've tried different options in the atcorr
interface - with DEM and no DEM; output is floating and not floating
number. But still gets the error/warning message below.

Other details:
Os - Windows 7 64 bit
version: QGIS 2.2 32 bit installed using OSGeo Installer

Thanks,
-Leo

Oooops! The following output layers could not be open

   - Name for output raster map:
   E:/Landsat_8_trial/LC81330482013106LGN01/Atcor/b1.tif

The above files could not be opened, which probably indicates that they
were not correctly produced by the executed algorithm

Checking the log information might help you see why those layers were not
created as expected

This algorithm requires GRASS to be run. A test to check if GRASS is
correctly installed and configured in your system has been performed, with
the following result:

GRASS seems to be correctly installed and configured
