But that's apparently too long - there still is a more or less continuous stream of fixes. So there weren't any new point releases yet, although there are a bunch of fixes. Re: [Qgis-user] Oracle connection Timeout
This morning we tested the patch [1] https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/commit/db23632 using qgis-dev nightly build 2.9.0-24. We installed locally on Windows and tested with Wireshark. On loading a Project where Oracle layers were stored without a username and Password, 1. A first Connection stream ConnA was built (sig, ack) and recieved a Login error. 2. ConnA was cleanly ended (Fin) and did not recieve a RST from the Oracle Server. 3. A second Connection stream ConnB was built (sig, ack) with the QgsCredentials given username and Password (sig, ack) and was cleanly closed when the Project was loaded. A tail of Oracle logs showed no Errors. We tried restarting QGIS, reloading the Project, loading a bigger Project, and adding and removing layers. Everything was squeaky clean. We connected to a Oracle 11 and to an Oracle 12 and to an Oracle 12 on an ODA without Problems. So, this patch is great. Brilliant! The next question is, how can I deploy it to my productive System? Since this is a System error that causes a lot of trouble, it's really important to get it fixed. Will it be added to / is it already added to 2.8? Is 2.8 now the official QGIS stable Version? I expected that that parameter would be saved when saving the project and loaded when opening it. But that is not the case. class TreeWidgetWrapperFactory( QgsEditorWidgetFactory ): ... def readConfig( self, elem, layer, idx ): Read a config object from an XML element pdb.set_trace() config = dict() config['MyTreeWidget'] = elem.attribute( 'MyTreeWidget' ) return config The readConfig function never runs. I don't understand what could be wrong because I copied and pasted the tutorial code for that class and changed only the name of the parameter where to save the configuration (MyTreeWidget instead of rule.) I tested and it is not your fault. It's about the python bindings that seem not to support certain C++ constructs (in particular private virtual methods). Hi, Not sure what you are trying to do. -If you are looking to extract contour lines from a DEM, use (Raster/Extract/contour) or Processing/Grass r.contour.step (with more options.) -If you want to extract a terrain profile from a DEM, use Profile tool plugin. -If you want to extract a terrain profile from a vector file (containing contour line), I believe the VoGis-ProfilTool Plugin, will do that (but never used it). If that does not work, make a DEM with these contour lines using the Interpolation Plugin then use the Profile tool plugin. To install plugins: Plugins/Manage and install plugins/All or not installed.
