Re: [Qgis-user] Cool Features of QGIS

2017-12-07 Thread David Fawcett
I think that the blend modes are something that many ESRI users would find
unique and useful. Also, not all users rely very heavily on PostGIS or
spatial SQL, but a DB manager example demonstrating the power of creating
layers directly from views and queries is impressive. Showing one that
creates geometries on the fly adds even more.

[Qgis-user] QGIS Modeling - Raster Band Math, Texture and batch processing

2017-12-07 Thread Frank Obusek
Hello QGIS friends!
I want to implement some of my ERDAS IMAGINE Spatial Model workflows using
the QGIS Modeler. I want to run processes that include band math, indices,
texture derivatives, threshold-criteria-decision-rule classification,
simple data format/type manipulation and batch processing a folder full of
multispectral images.

I have created a few simple models, but seem to be stumbling in some basic
areas. I am looking for example QGIS Models, online demonstrations and
tutorials related to image processing, indices and classification. Feel
free to share your knowledge and resources.

Re: [Qgis-user] Extract x and y coordinates

2017-12-07 Thread iqnaulhaq
Hi,

You can use field calculator and create two new columns (x and y), use $x and
$y functions for each column. I suggest to do this in your .kml first before
save it in .tab file.

Subject: [Qgis-user] Extract x and y coordinates

Hi all,

I have exported point data from Google maps in .kml format. I have brought this
into QGIS and saved it as a .tab file.

I want to create two fields that contain the x and y coordinates of the points,
is there an easy way to do this?

Regards
Finbar

Re: [Qgis-user] Lat/long for polygon points

2017-12-07 Thread Árni Geirsson
Hi Tony
If I understand correctly, you want to make the coordinates of the vertices
of the polygon visible. I can think of two ways to do this:

A: Use "Extract nodes" under "Geometry tools" to make a point layer out of
the vertices and then label them using the expression builder, for
example:  $x  || ', '  ||   $y

B: If you use PostGIS, you can use a view to expose the vertices (with
ST_DumpPoints) and then label these points in the same way.
