Re: [Qgis-user] Newbie question

2018-02-13 Thread Tiago Tomé
Not sure if I'm understanding your question.

If you have shapefiles, you can delete any column you wish. And add any
column you wish. Using the identify function (what I'm guessing you mean by
information cursor) simply retrieves every field contained in the table for
that feature. Also, the lat and long retrieved and displayed by that tool
are not being gathered from the attribute table, they are what QGIS calls
"derived data".

Re: [Qgis-user] Versioned editing in QGIS

2018-02-13 Thread alfredogarciaw
I was trained 18 years ago on SmallWorld GIS.
At that time Smallworld had a database technology with versioning
capability called VMDS (Version Managed Data Store) and was unique at that
time.
Versioning, allows multiple revisions of the data without duplicating all
the data, or requiring different databases to be created. As data Versioning
showed to be very important, other vendors like ESRI-Arcgis implemented
their own versioning system, with some similarities and differences.

But to be concise: The concept of Version is analogous to the concept that
has of drawing in a plane of paper. The creation of a version is analogous
to the process of making a photocopy of the parent version. But once the
photocopy is created the modifications in the original are NOT transferred
to the copy and vice versa. The only way to transfer the changes between two
different versions, is through the "POST" function. In the case of
SmallWorld, it also has a “MERGE” function to transfer the changes between
two different versions.

SmallWorld VMDS (Version Managed Data Store), allowed also checkpoints, so
you could go back to a checkpoint state of the data inside a version
(usually history related, like a log.).
I have been investigating spatial data versioning, for almost 2 decades.

PostGIS/PostgreSQL does not handle data versioning like SmallWorld VMDS.
But, thanks to new improvements in Postgres engine, I was able to create a
Qgis plugin that integrates with Postgres-Postgis database and allows
spatial data versioning, user security administration and project
management.

[Qgis-user] Two days left for submitting abstracts to FOSS4G 2018 (Dar Es Salaam)

2018-02-13 Thread Tim Sutton
Hi all

I am forwarding this email on behalf of Maria Brovelli, Academic chair for the
upcoming FOSS4G 2018 conference in Dar Es Salaam. The conference dates are as
follows:

27, 28 AUGUST 2018 : WORKSHOPS
29, 30, 31 AUGUST 2018 : THREE DAY MAIN CONFERENCE
1, 2 SEPTEMBER 2018 : CODE SPRINTS AND COMMUNITY EVENTS

(Note that the next QGIS User Meeting will be held in conjunction with the
conference, probably before the event, we will confirm the arrangements soon).

If you are working in an academic context, note that the call for academic
papers is closing in 2 days - see Maria’s message below for details:

The deadline for submitting abstracts to the Academic Track of FOSS4G 2018
(http://2018.foss4g.org/) is approaching (15 February 2018!)

At this first step you have to submit an abstract written in English comprising
500‐800 words and containing sufficient details for evaluation (including the
approach, results, concepts, reasons why it should be considered and why it
would be interesting for the audience).

The contributions are accepted on the abstract blind review process. Submitted
abstracts will be refereed for quality, originality and relevance by the
Scientific Committee. Authors will receive feedback and suggestions for
improvement to their papers to be submitted in a second step for publication in
the International Archives of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (listed in the
ISI Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI) of the Web of Science, SCOPUS,
the E/I Compendex, and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)).

For submitting your abstract go to http://2018.foss4g.org/call-for-papers.html
and follow the instructions.

We are looking forward to receiving your contribution and see you in Dar!

Maria and Ally Hassan on behalf of the Local Organising Committee.

IMPORTANT DATES
Abstract Submission deadline is 15 February 2018
Abstract acceptance notice is 15 March 2018
Early Bird Registration closes 15 May 2018

Re: [Qgis-user] Web Feature Service - Feature Limit Error

2018-02-13 Thread Richard McDonnell

Hi,
When you select the data, dont cache it. I have a large datsset which I
access regularly via WFS, when I had the Cache Layer ticked, it produced
issues like you describe, removing the Cache requirement at the Layer
insertion point, sorted this. Dont worry about Loading too much data, as
you can limit this in your styling, also bear in mind, that the WFS uses
does not load the whole dataset every time, only the view you currently
have.

Hope that makes sense!
Regards,

Richard.

SI, la query restituisce una geomertycollection cioè:
facendo un check della geometria ho due record; polygon e multipolygon;

come scritto sopra, Furieri ha spiegato che basti creare un altro campo
geom2 e popolarlo forzando, come tipologia di geometria, multipolygon.

Ho apportato una modifica alla query, eccola:

select COMUNE,st_union(st_intersection (clc.geom, com.geom)) as geom, count
(*)as nro,
(sum (st_area(st_intersection (clc.geom, com.geom))) /
st_area(com.geom))*100.00 as indice
from CLC_Molise clc, comuni_molise com
where liv_3 like 'Boschi%' and st_intersects (clc.geom, com.geom) = 1
group by 1
order by indice desc

la modifica riguardo l'aggiunta di st_union();
saluti.

Re: [Qgis-user] Zonal Statistics multiple classe

2018-02-13 Thread Nikos Alexandris
Basically I am looking to getting the total cover and percent cover
for each class (the classes are crop data), for each polygons
(drainage area).  So basically, how many square km of corn, forest,
wheat... do I have in each drainage area polygons? Does that make
more sense for you?

The modules mentioned are a perfect fit for this task.

Nicolas, if you are still on it, and didn't figure it out yet,
and you could share some sample data, I could prepare something tonight.

[Qgis-user] Labels visible for invisible features

2018-02-13 Thread Bernhard Ströbl

Hi all,

I have a point layer with a rule-based style based on some of the
layer's attributes. The points are labelled using a label field.
Now, when unticking a rule in the layer panel (i.e. making the features
falling under this rule invisible) their labels are still rendered.
Using a categorized renderer the labels are not rendered if the category
is unticked.

Does anybody have a workaround for this?
I am using QGIS 2.18.16

way to get this done in QGis 2.18.16 on Windows 10?

Thanks,

Nicolas,

not a direct answer, yet if you have access to GRASS' tools, then you
could look

into v.rast.stats.html [0] (or even r.stats.zonal [1] if you have a
raster version of your "polygons").

If I understand correctly, you want to get statistics per polygon, not
per class. I.e., min, max, sum and the rest, for each class inside
each vector polygon.

v.rast.stats will derive the statistics in question from a raster map
for the parts covered by the vector map. Note, internally, the vector
map is

converted to a raster.

If you have two rasters, then your base map is the "multiple classes
map".
Your cover map will be the "rasterised vector polygons", which you
consider as

the zones to compute the statistics in question within. Very useful,
here, is the `-r` flag: "Create reclass map with statistics as category
labels".
