No one would know that without reading the download page - and everyone who did
read it should know that /debian* is for debian and ubuntu.

Jürgen

PS: There are ubuntu* symlinks now to the debian* directories.

dbmanager non ha subito modifiche nella 2.18 e che su la 3.x non da
problemi non aiuta a capire l'eventuale problema. :-(

Mentre per quanto riguarda il crash, sarebbe interessante capire in quale
occasione e se riproducibile. Dalla 2.18.20 alla 2.18.21
ci sono state veramente poche modifiche a livello di codice, tutte
indirizzate a risolvere bug.

[Qgis-user] Looking for two Plugins

2018-07-17 Thread Joe Rose
Hi all:

Could someone tell me if there are plugins for:

*1.* A feature add that will fill in a void surrounded by polygons with a
NEW polygon.

I have a cluster of polygons which FULLY enclose a void. I would like to
programmatically fill this void with a new polygon.

*2.* A plugin which will align a "Master" line segment of a polygon to a
"Slave" segment of an adjoining polygon. (Shared borders.)

It should work something like this:

The master "segment" is chosen from a starting vertex to an ending vertex.
The number if points (vertices) are counted. The "Slave" segment is chosen
where it's starting point is in snap range of the master's starting point.
It's ending point is likewise. (This segment's vertices are counted). The
two segments are then "Zipper" together until the slave segment aligns
with master. If there is a vertices count mismatch then vertices are added
(or removed) from the "Slave" to match the vertices of the "Master".

Thanks in advance;

Joe

[Qgis-user] Brand new user - never heard of QGIS. Where can I find system requirements?

2018-07-17 Thread John Antkowiak
Hi. I used to work with ESRI ArcMap tools as a self-taught mapping analyst, but
I haven't looked at mapping platforms in over ten years. Now I have a rather
simple project involving boundary vectors for political districts in North
Carolina. I need to plot several pieces of information. My system resources are
limited. I have no doubt QGIS can handle the task, but is it overkill? Will
something simpler do? I need to produce informative .jpgs for email
distribution or perhaps web publishing for access by a network of home users.
This is not for corporate use.

What system requirements must I meet, for downloading and running QGIS? I have
an ASUS R510LA notebook with about 370 GB of available memory. Its processing
specifications are shown in the attached image.
I will also need help finding and using data repositories. Will I have to
maintain data sets locally? I don't expect to need raster graphics, but I will
need vector and point layers that should be available publicly.
This is also my first experience with mailing lists, so I do not understand its
concepts yet. I will learn quickly.

Thank you for your help! ___

2. You need to check error messages from the apt command if you get an
error when installing from an https repository. For example you may need
to install the package apt-transport-https to enable apt to work with
https repositorities. This is not an issue with the repository, it is an
issue with apt. The error message in this case is pretty descriptive as
to what is needed.

If apt does not name the encountered problems, try aptitude. You might
have to install that first.

Theory of the Universe

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the
universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced
by something even more bizarrely inexplicable. There is another theory which
states that this has already happened.
