I think that Internet Explorer is an obsolete browser (it's not updated

successor of Internet Explorer), instead.

[Qgis-user] QGIS flatpak linux error QGIS starting in non-interactive mode not supported

2020-07-21 Thread Todd Pfaff
I've installed QGIS on a CentOS 7 system using these two different
methods:

1) qgis 2.14.9 from epel repo via a 'yum install qgis' command,

2) qgis 3.14.0 via flatpak install.

This CentOS 7 system is remote and I am attempting to run qgis via an ssh
login. Other X window apps are working fine via this ssh login so I know
that, in general, my ssh connection is working with X forwarded through
the ssh connection.

The version 2.14.9 install via yum runs fine via this ssh connection and
displays back to my local X display.

The flatpak version 3.14.0 does this:

  $ flatpak run org.qgis.qgis
  QGIS starting in non-interactive mode not supported.
  You are seeing this message most likely because you have no DISPLAY
  environment variable set.

but my X display is definitely set:

  $ echo $DISPLAY
  localhost:11.0

and, as I wrote above, other X apps, including qgis-2.14.9, are working as
expected via this ssh-tunnelled X display.

Is there a known workaround that will allow me to run this flatpak gqis
remotely via an ssh login and display to the ssh-tunnelled X display?

[Qgis-user] Georeferencing of PDFs broken in v3.14?

2020-07-21 Thread Brock Riedell

All,

One advantage of QGIS which I recently discovered (thanks to this
mailing list!) is the ability to georeference oversized, high-resolution
PDF images without turning them into JPGs or PNGs with the invariable
loss of resolution.  This worked fine in QGIS version 3.12, but after
upgrading my Linux box to QGIS 3.14, this capability appears to be
lost.  In two tries to georeference the same PDF map, the standard
Georeferencer plugin loads it, but produces the error "No raster file
loaded" when I click the Start Georeferencing button.  Fortunately I
still had version 3.12 on my Windows drive and could resolve this easily.

Can someone please confirm?

Regards
Brock Riedell

Hi Roger,
have you tried to download the dataset from https://qgis.org/downloads/data/
or from https://github.com/qgis/QGIS-Sample-Data/tree/master (as referenced
in
https://docs.qgis.org/3.10/en/docs/user_manual/introduction/getting_started.html#downloading-sample-data)

It seems they both contain the landcover.img file.

Regards.

Re: [Qgis-user] How to install QGIS in Debian 11?

2020-07-21 Thread Patrick Dunford

Replying to both comments so far in this conversation.

All package managers to install the Qgis packages are dependent on the
dependencies of these packages being available from their respective
repositories. With an unstable distro this is more difficult as the
packages in the distro repositories are constantly being updated and may
not match the required ones at any particular point in time. As the
message from the package manager says very clearly *"if you are using
the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been
created or been moved out of Incoming."*

Debian development editions are changing a lot more rapidly than the
production editions which are noted for their stability so this is
simply a fact of life using unstable or testing editions of Debian.
There is always a risk with the unstable versions both of the distro and
software that an update may break either and you may have to wait a few
days until whichever unmet dependency is resolved but this may not
actually happen until shortly after the next point release of Qgis 3.14
is produced.

If you wanted to debug this further you could look at the lists of
dependencies that are at this URL
http://qgis.org/debian/dists/unstable/main/binary-amd64/Packages and
then one possibility is to check all the dependencies of each package in
turn. This is no doubt highly laborious considering the number of
dependencies listed for the example libqgis-3d3.14.0 the first one in
the list, and for all the others.

Using the nightly tree which is built more often therefore potentially
more up to date is probably a better long term strategy. For example the
current packages list at
http://qgis.org/debian-nightly/dists/unstable/main/binary-amd64/Packages
tells me there are later versions of some of the packages listed below
present and they may be more likely to be up to date with the
dependencies that are present in your computer.

There is one question I am unsure of however and that is whether
unstable is for Ubuntu distros, and Debian users should be using the sid
branch instead, or whether they are actually the same. sid is only
available in debian-nightly tree however.

Hi Qgis user group,

I am a brand new QGis/Grass user and am having trouble locating the
landcover.img file

Can anyone
assist me in locating this file? or is the Alaska dataset not complete?

I am using the QGIS 3.10 Corunna Grass integration install on Windows 10.

I can move onto using the NC or Spearfish datasets if need be and see how
they workout but it would be great to use the Alaska dataset.

I thank anyone for their assistance.

Re: [Qgis-user] Question

2020-07-21 Thread Richard Duivenvoorde
Hi,

FYI These kind of developers/c++ questions are problably better asked/answered
on the QGIS-dev list

I think you also should add some more context, for example:
- what exactly are you trying to do? Add a rasterlayer to... what?
- which development/Operating system environment are you using for this?
- is this a standalone dir applicatio?
- is this code somewhere on github so others can have a look?

Otherwise this is too open I think, for others to take the time to try to
understand and answer.

Regards,

Richard Duivenvoorde

[Qgis-user] Question

2020-07-21 Thread Alireza Ghalavand
Hello,

Qgis Error “Raster layer Cannot instantiate the 'gdal' data provider” in qt
c++

When I am trying to add a raster layer, I get this error from
QgsRasterLayer::IsValid()!!! Can anybody tell me why this happens!? I am
beginner in qgis, so could you please explain in detail. the first func
"onAddLayer" used for Add button clicked and second func is defined for
adding a raster layer.

*my code:*
void  MainWindow::onAddLayer()
{
  const auto path = QFileDialog::getOpenFileName(this, "SELECT GIS MAP
LAYER", QDir(
_lastMapDir).path());

  if (path.isEmpty() || path.isNull())
  {
return;
  }

  addRasterLayer(path);
  _lastMapDir = QDir(path).canonicalPath();
}

void  MainWindow::addRasterLayer(const QFileInfo )
{
  LOG(QString("adding map layer %1").arg(info.filePath()));
  QString  errMsg;

//  if (!QgsRasterLayer::isValidRasterFileName(info.filePath(), errMsg))
//  {
//LOG(errMsg);

//return;
//  }

  QScopedPointer  layer(new QgsRasterLayer(info.filePath(),
info.baseName()));
  //layer->setDataProvider("gdal"); // Added by ArGhalavand

  if (!layer->isValid())
  {
LOG(QString("failed to add layer (%1)").arg(layer->error().message(

QgsErrorMessage::Format::Text)));

return;
  }

  save("last_layer_path", info.filePath(), "gis");
  _rasterProvider = layer->dataProvider();
  _mapCanvas->freeze(true);
  auto  item = QgsMapCanvasLayer(layer.take(), true);
  _mapCanvas->setExtent(item.layer()->extent());
  QgsMapLayerRegistry::instance()->addMapLayer(item.layer(), true);
  _mapCanvas->setLayerSet(QList() << item);
  _mapCanvas->freeze(false);
  _mapCanvas->setVisible(true);
  _mapCanvas->refresh();
  statusBar()->showMessage(QString("%1 LOADED").arg(info.fileName()), 3000);
}

Re: [Qgis-user] What am I missing? Python plugins not available.

2020-07-21 Thread Charles Dixon-Paver
It may not necessarily be that python is not being picked up by QGIS then.

I am probably not the authority on this, but I believe there was an update
to the plugin system which may have gone awry. As suggested previously,
this might be resolved by upgrading to a newer version of QGIS (e.g. 3.10
LTS)

One thing you could possibly try is checking the plugin repository source
in the plugin settings and reloading it or adding the plugins.qgis.org repo
(if it is not already there).

My plugin repository for 3.10 is
https://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/plugins.xml

I'm not sure if that's the correct one for your version, so maybe someone
else can comment.

[Qgis-user] Qgis2web empty map on Internet explorer

2020-07-21 Thread Letizia Costanza
Dear All,
I am using Qgis 3.12 and the qgis2web plugin to publish a web map.
Everything works fine with all the browsers I tested but with Internet
Explorer I am not able to visualize the map: when I open the index file
with internet explorer the map is empty (it is only visible the plus and
minus symbols on the top left of the page). Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance.

[Qgis-user] Grass Gis shell

2020-07-21 Thread Denis Vasiliev
Dear Sir / Madam,
I have installed the latest version of QGIS 3.14 Pi, on Windows 10. I
started working with QGIS GRASS, using GRASS toolbox. Individual GRASS
modules work, but when I click on GRASS shell icon it does not respond. How
can I fix this, to access GRASS Shell through QGIS?
Faithfully yours,
Denis

 Hi,

 I should have posted a better screen shot. My installed plugins list is
 the same as the All plugins list.

 Hence my question about missing plugins.

 Warm regards,
