Thanks, I gave that I try, but it didn't work for me. It is possible I
missed a mask, I'm working on a complicated project. I will try a simpler
project and see if it works.

Re: [Qgis-user] Rasters in print layout are not aligned 3.20

2021-07-08 Thread Tony Shepherd (FarmMaps NZ)
Hi

See my post from Wed 7th July.

I have exactly the same problem since loading 3.20. By chance do you have
label masking enabled on any layers? I discovered that if I disable the layer
masking, then the rasters and vector data will then align correctly. Re apply
masking and then the error pops up again.

It’s a bit of a pain as I have a template that I start new jobs with that has
label masking enabled on several layers, so I have resorted to using 3.18
again, but 3.20 does have some cool features.

Cheers

I have noticed that all my rasters, as well as WMS layers, are not aligned in
print layout. This tells me that there is a setting somewhere that is wrong. I
am using 3.20 on Linux Mint. All the layers CRS are the same. If I could get

2021-07-08 Thread Drew French
Yes they are the same CRS. The weird thing is everything is aligned
correctly in the map canvas, basemaps are where they should be etc...I
switched over to 3.16 and everything works fine there in print layout, but
then when I switch back to 3.20 the problem is still in print layout, using
the same files of course. Anither quirk is if I zoom in, my vector layers
will be correct, but the raster layers change size, ie resolution.

Hi Drew,

Check the project CRS and the map item CRS.

Are those layers not aligned also in the main map canvas?

I wonder if what you really want is a DP simplification, and surely that
must be an option in qgis already.

maybe, but I think it looks for 1;1 and 1;1 but not for 1;1;07:45 and

qgis is set up to deal with data being in one CRS and displayed in
another. It is normal to use a projected CRS (as you are, or UTM, or
some other national/regional plane coordinates) as the project CRS and
have data in WGS84 or some national datum. Other than skipping
transforms in some cases and causing errors of about a meter due to
confusion about WGS84 being a datum ensemble (and your data if from a
phone is surely not good enough that you'd notice this, and there is not
problem from WGS84 to 3857), this works fine.

So just leave the project CRS as you had it, and use the WGS84 codepoint
for your data and it should work.

Sure. all of the lat/lon CRS are awkward because there is distortion
since 1E-5 of latitude and 1E-5 of longitude are not the same distance.

Hi!

Just a rough guess - maybe you mixed up lat/lon to lon/lat during the
import?
GPS should be in WGS84 (EPSG:4326) so there is not much that could go wrong.

[Qgis-user] Point-Layer from GPS-Coordinates

2021-07-08 Thread L.W.

Hi,

I have a MariaDB-Database-Table with GPS-Points (from Phonetrack) an
want to visualize them in QGIS.

I imported the table with a dataset-connection to MariaDB and I see the
plain text data.

After that I created a virtual point layer by using make_point from lat
and lon.

I can see the points on map but they are in the middle of the ocean next
to south africa and not all over europe.

I tried different CRS (project crs is 3857 (I do have some other layers
in this projects with i.e. online routing tool, or other point layers.

But I can not achieve to move the coords/points to correct position -
all other layers are right.

Any ideas?

Regards

PS: In generell, which is the "best" CRS for handling with GPS-Coords
like saved by phonetrack (exported to GPX) or by i.e. Android GPStracker
(exported as GPX)?
