Re: [Qgis-user] QGIS server in professional use?
Please do not spread FUD. We have tens of instances running smoothly. Just follow carefully the instructions on a clean machine, and it will work. Thanks. [Qgis-user] Front page and download page
Every time I update QGIS I feel that the front page and the download page of the website (in English) needs a bit of tweaking to guide the non-technical into making informed choices. The distinction between LTR and current release needs to be explained better and I have really have no idea about what QGIS in OSGeo4W (recommended for regular users) is/does. I don't think it is clearly expressed. I am happy to help in suggesting change but I am not sure how the process works. Cheers Dr Iain Stuart JCIS Consultants P.O. Re: [Qgis-user] QGIS server in professional use?
Hi! Thanks to Jorge and Benoit for trying to assist with missing information. I have attempted to include the suggested code snippets into my virtual host file, and am at least able to start Apache2 now (there were errors I had to figure out). I am not too happy about the resulting mix. *Conclusion: FAIL* qgis_server.fcgi is running locally. check Apache2 is accessible on port 80 (http://geonet.se) check But despite all efforts, the request http://geonet.se/qgis/my_12?SERVICE=WMS=1.3.0=GetCapabilities invariably gets a 404 Not Found response. *Conclusion*: QGIS Server is not ready for production. There is a fatal bug, the missing parts of the documentation which prevents the setup and configuration of the service. Now I have to fall back on Geoserver, despite the miserable cartography and the SLD file difficulties. Re: [Qgis-user] .kml to tiff?
Hi, Exactly what I needed. I did not know this plugin also added some tools under the raster menu. Thanks Nicolas On 2021-10-15 8:57 p.m., C Hamilton wrote: Nicholas, The KML Tools plugin will convert embedded images in the KMZ to GeoTiffs. It doesn’t handle html links. I don’t know if this will help or not. Sent from my iPod On Oct 15, 2021, at 7:21 PM, Nicolas Cadieux wrote: Hi, I have received a series of raster in the kml format. They look good in Google Earth but either appear horrible in QGIS (blocky with low resolution) or don’t appear at all. (Come to think of it, could this be a reprojection issue as my project is not in pseudo merc??? Will test!) Any others tips on importing them or is there a way to export them to a georeferenced.tiff? Can the image be extracted from the kml? At least a few of the file have the raster imbedded, some, I think, just point to the raster file. Is there a way to check this? [Qgis-user] How to add custom system reference transformation data
Hi, Probably my request will not be clear for not Italian people. Premise: I often use data in both 7791 and 3003. I have converted base cartography from 7791 to 3003 using a proper software (ConveRgo by IGM). In this way I can add other layer from online library in 3003. If I use 7701 base cartography and qgis’ native transformation data it means I could have 4meter approximation error. In the reality, in my case, I have around 70 cm from the one converted by Qgis and the one converted with the official converter from IGM. Question: As I have also several official .src file for conversion, I’d prefer to add these file into Qgis and work directly with 7791 and 3003 file, having the same level of precision of real conversion using ConveRgo. I tried reading some post and video, but without success.
