[Qgis-user] LOSS OF DATA AFTER DELETING DUPLICATE GEOMETRIES

2020-04-21 Thread Bernard
Hi,
I used MMQGIS to delete duplicate geometries. After deleting, I saved the file
using a pre-existing name, overwrote the file and opened it.
The file was blank. What could have gone wrong? I have lost all the
data/records in the old file. The attribute table was blank and the file fise
1kb.
How do I recover my records?

[Qgis-user] AUTOMATING MAP DRAWING

2020-02-21 Thread Bernard
Hello.
I draw a lot of maps with points and polygons, of different areas in the
country.
I there a way of automating this, instead of me always drawing a separate
map(s), specific to an area (but with the same features as the previous ones)?

[Qgis-user] UPDATING GEO-REFERENCED POINTS

2020-01-13 Thread Bernard

I have georeferenced data that I keep updating.

The challenge I am having is I have to download the datafrom a GPS, plot it,
and replace the previous points.

Is there a way I can update the shapefile by appending thenew georeferenced
data to the old shapefile without losing the map’s attributes?

[Qgis-user] Converting an OSM XML file to a SpatiaLite DB file

2015-06-10 Thread Lucas Bernard Grigri

Hello,

I am using open street map, and downloaded the OpenStreetMap data
(with From Map Canvas as the Extent), to create an OSM XML file. I
then tried to convert this XML file to a SpatiaLite DB file by going
VECTOR- OPENSTREETMAP- IMPORT TOPOLOGY FROM XML. However, when I do
this I get an error which reads:

   FAILED TO IMPORT OSM DATA:
XML ERROR: PREMATURE END OF DOCUMENT

Please let me know if you have experienced this same problem and how
to go about fixing it.

Thanks

I have the quick osm plugin installed but it still won't work.

Quoting Cascafico Giovanni cascaf...@gmail.com:

Using osm generated by overpass-turbo.eu queries (export raw) always worked
for me. Quick osm plugin works as well.

I grab this thread to ask one more question DB Manager related...
how can I clean up db manager connection list, once finished?

[Qgis-user] Version 2.2 Valmiera with SQL Server

2014-12-28 Thread Bernard BISconsult
Hello friends

I'm using QGIS 2.2 Valmiera on a Windows 7 environment with SQL Server 2012
holding the data and I'm quite happy about how QGIS displays the data. The
connection to SQL Servre goes via ODBC. As in my project QGIS is used to
present data than to create or modify them, I use SQL-Server views as the
underlying data reference which works fine and fast. However I've got one
serious problem that is when I use the Open Attribute Table on a layer it
will show the exact number of records, but the record content is always the
same, probably repeating the content of the first record found instead of
showing the individual contents (see ccreenshot attached).

I thought this might be a 2.2 problem meanwhile fixed and installed QGIS 2.6
by using the existing .qgs file from 2.2. But after that many layers (not
all) lost there connection to the SQL Server database and I'm unable to
connect them. Furthermore using Open Attribute Table crashes on layers
from SQL Server.

By this mail I hope to get answers on:

1. How can I fix the 2.2 problem which displays repeatedly the same
record when using Open Attribute Table on a layer from SQL Server

2. How can I migrate a .qgs mapping from 2.2 to 2.6 which is mainly
filled with layers on SQL Server data.

Regards Emile
