[Qgis-user] more from zonal statistics
Dear Alexander, I need your help! I wish to find the highest and lowest point for each watershed (polygon). The points then should be exported to vector file. Kindly, let me know how to get it from zonal statistics. I find that it provides half-way answer to what I need. It calculates the mean value and mentions in attribute table. It would be good if it gives the highest and the lowest value in attribute table as well. And, also provide for export of such points. thanks! Re: [Qgis-user] more from zonal statistics
correction! the mean value not the highest value is given for each polygon, error regretted. thanks! RE: [Qgis-user] Polygons and labels
Thanks! Giovanni, BUt, this is only gives me a half solution. The lables now I can get single and they are good. But I also wish to the feature # label selected features only # which is available as an option only by going into properties labels. [Qgis-user] Polygons and labels
Dear all, Labelling polygons in a multi-polygon unit (for eg group of islands) has become an embarrassment. If there are at least 2 dozen of small island units along with one big island. Then they all show the labels of the same name at least 2 dozen times, which simply is a mess of the labelling system. I need that labelling should be only of the largest island even though selection makes them select all at one go. Any ideas for this? Tks! [Qgis-user] RE: [GRASS-user] grass plugin fail to render
Thanks! Markus, I found that gdal rpms are installed and the manage plugins windows also shows gdal tools therefore, this doesn't seem to be an issue. Also, when I try to select the project properties into UTM the workspace still remains on xy coordinate. But did you install the GDAL-GRASS plugin? Also: what is really the error message? Markus On Mon, Nov 22, 2010 at 4:27 AM, ambrish dhaka ambi...@hotmail.com wrote: Hi! Markus, It is the Grass 6.3 version and they are coming with the standard installation repo. But, real problem is that in standalone Grass the thing works fine. Or even fetching them into Qgis is also good, but the opening raster from dataset in Qgis is creating trouble. One thing I did not mention is that I am moving this database from one partition to another as I had previously created this dataset in Opensuse, then I took it to a window partition and then after having Fedora 14 installed I brought this database back into home folder. Is that a possible reason for this mess? Thanks! Though I can directly import an image into qgis, it renders nice. But, with grass plugins it is not happening. I am on Fedora 14 x86_64 platform. To my knowledge Fedora still serves GRASS 6.3 (but they started to produce 6.4 RPMs these days). Which version do you run? From Fedora or selfcompiled? [Qgis-user] landuse raster
Hello all, I wish to extract landuse from landsat images. Can somebody outline the steps and how can it be done. So far I have created a composite and then I am vectorising them manually. Is there a better way of extracting settlement areas and other agricultural landuse. A help would be highly appreciated. Thanks! Ambrish _ Property Requirements? [Qgis-user] polygon formation problems!
Hello! Qgis users, I am a new user of qgis and wish to switch to open source but there are some usage difficulties that I need to be resolved. The polygons are created either by capture or splitting. There is no provision for creating an adjacent polygon with the help of a line. Secondly, whenever there are two polygons having common segment then there is overlaying of lines, which means that once the vertices are touched there is no more single common segment and it shows into two different segments. It has several demerits in terms of accuracy. I hope once these are properly addressed, I can go further into using this. Thanks!
