[Qgis-user] Polygon digitalization
Hello. My firm passed under QGis one year ago, and we encounter a problem with the use of QGis for our botanists. Indeed they will be confronted with the need of digitizing hundreds of habitats polygon with correct joins. Some have tested under QGis Lisboa and the result is discussable because, as you can see on the attached image, the created polygons (with the option avoid intersections and topological editing checked) shows some garbage. Here I have moved one of them and we see the results. http://osgeo-org.1560.n6.nabble.com/file/n5040680/OSGeo2.png Reading the former messages on this subject, I have tested the options of digitizing polilines with 'traceedit' and poligonize with 'poligonizer', and the GRASS vector layer. But it is not practical for our experts. Can you help me about that ? [Qgis-user] Problem in FTools 0.6.1 union
Hi. It seems that the Union tool furnished with QGIS Wroclaw and Ftools 0.6.1 does not manage the union attributes correctly. Tested with one A layer with an ID attribute with value 125, one B layer with an ID attribute with value 200 and the two layers (simple vector layers with only one feature for each one) overlapping on one part. You make the union. After that, you have a resulting layer with 2 fields : ID and ID_2 The attribute table is the following: IDID_2 0 125 200 (the overlapping region) 1 125 NULL (the A only region) 2 125 NULL (the B only region) Should'nt the feature number 2 attributes be ('2', NULL, '200'). It seems 0.5.10 Ftools version did not contain this problem.
