Hi David,

You need to right-click on the QGIS app and choose Open. Then it will show
another warning, but this time will give you the option to Open the app,
after which it will not ask again.

Side-note for the list: I thought the QGIS board had approved buying a
certificate from Apple to solve this?

[Qgis-user] "QGIS" can't be opened because Apple....

Hi,

I am unable to open QGIS on my Mac. I receive the following message:

“QGIS” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.
This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.”

I have tried to open both QGIS 3.22 and 3.26 without success.

I am using the latest macOS Monterey 12.5

please can you help me get around this issue.
