Thanks Louisa!
I think advertising new plugins here is a good practice, that
unfortunately only a few developers follow.
All the best.

[Qgis-user] New plugin for QGIS for making travel time polygons

2019-07-10 Thread Louisa Bainbridge
Hi QGIS users,

I’m happy to announce a new plugin for QGIS is available in the plugin
manager. The plugin adds new tools and algorithms that allow you to create
travel time polygons (isochrones) using many modes of transport. For
example, you can view where’s reachable within 30 minutes at 8 am using
public transport.

The plugin adds these algorithms:

Time map: returns a travel time polygon (isochrone). Shape returned depends
on the selected transport mode and departure/arrival time.
Time filter: calculates the travel time from a single origin to thousands
of destinations at one time. Journey times vary depending on mode and
departure/arrival time.
Routes: returns A to B routing information, including multi-modal routes.

The plugin includes simplified algorithms and advanced algorithms, which
give you more customizable parameters. Tutorials to get started with the
plugin are available here
https://igeolise.github.io/traveltime-platform-qgis-plugin/. These
tutorials contain detailed information about the plugin. The topics range
from the absolute basics such as how to install it as well as a guide on
basic plugin usage and how to use each algorithm. The tutorials are also a
nice example of what is possible with the processing framework.

The plugin was made by Olivier Dalang for the TravelTime platform. Our goal
is to provide completely free API access to casual and regular users of
QGIS, whilst supporting the plugin with commercial use case API licenses.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the plugin here
https://www.traveltimeplatform.com/contact-us.

Thanks,
Louisa
