Re: [Qgis-user] Profile Tool Plugin installation problem

2019-10-03 Thread Andreas Neumann
Hi,

QGIS 2.14 is not supported anymore. I recommend to upgrade to QGIS 3.4
or higher.

However, there are several profile plugins available. You can, e.g. try
to use the VOGIS Profile tool
(http://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/VoGisProfilTool/) or one of the other
profile plugins.

But it could also be some basic problem on your machine with Python ...

Greetings,

Andreas

[Qgis-user] Profile tool - Error in the sampling points

2015-07-02 Thread Martin Stubbs

I have been using the profile tool plugin very successfully for some
time but I now have an application where I need to know the coordinates
of the sample points. I have added a few lines to the software to allow
me to output the coordinates as well as the height points. This shows a
problem with the calculation of the sample points.

I have a DXF file which I import in QGIS to use as the sample line. When
I compare the points that were sampled to the original sample line I
find a consistent error of approx 6m in the SE direction. I have tried
converting the DXF line to a shapefile and the error is the same. I
assume that the error is some type of projection error but all layers,
the project and the DXF file are in the same EPSG:27700 (OSGB) projection.

I have created a much simpler DXF file and this doesn't show the error.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Since the last update of the profile tool, I do not manage to make it

nothing is drawn in the profile tool window. CRS of the project and of
the raster layer are the same. Any idea ?

Yes, I learned it on the list - there are plugins with other Python
dependencies that need to be installed the same way.

For anyone else doing it, I forgot to mention that it only works if you
use an installer built for the same version of Python that QGIS uses
i.e. an installer for Python 2.6 or 3 will not work with Python 2.5.

For the record, there is also an open ticket (with a suggested script)
for registering the OSGeo4W Python with Windows, so that python package
 installers can find it: http://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo4w/ticket/114

Regarding the profile tool plugin, Micha, it definitely runs on Windows.
But on one of my machines I also got that error message about having no
 Qwt5.
If I remember correctly, the problem was something like this: it
requires the latest Qwt5 (or PyQwt5) in the OSGeo4W repository, but this
machine only had an older version installed, and the OSGeo4W installer
was not showing the latest version for some reason.
I believe to fix it I uninstalled PyQwt5 and Qwt5, then reinstalled
 them.

There is a windows installer for Shapely.
 http://pypi.python.org/pypi/Shapely#downloads

The problem that I ran into was that the installer defaults to the
Python install listed in the Registry.  For me, (and probably most
people), that is not the Python instance installed by OSGEO4W.  At
least last time that I attempted the install, there was no way to tell
the Shapely installer to use a different Python instance.

Re: [Qgis-user] Profile Tool

2011-08-31 Thread Alister Hood
Hi guys,
You can manually extract the files from the shapely installer (using
e.g. Izarc or 7zip, or possibly just by renaming it as .zip or
something), and put them in the right places.
You need to put the shapely folder (from inside PURELIB) in e.g.
C:\OSGeo4W\apps\Python25\Lib\site-packages\, and the geos.dll and
libgeos-3-2-2.dll in I think C:\OSGeo4W\bin, although instead of
installing those I seem to have got it working by editing
C:\OSGeo4W\apps\Python25\Lib\site-packages\shapely\geos.py to use the
lib from OSGeo4W instead (C:\OSGeo4W\bin\geos_c.dll).

I believe to fix it I uninstalled PyQwt5 and Qwt5, then reinstalled
them.

[Qgis-user] Profile Tool plugin crash

2010-06-09 Thread Micha Silver
The Profile Tool plugin on Windows (OSGeo4W installer on WinXP) causes a
crash of QGIS as soon as you move the mouse *after* profile completes.
(After the profile appears, if you navigate with *keyboard only*, you
can save the profile and close the plugin. Then full functionality
returns. But when the profile window is open, *any* mouse movement
causes the crash)

This was reported already on the QGIS forum:
http://forum.qgis.org/viewtopic.php?f=2t=6497

The plugin works as expected on Ubuntu 10.04

Another point - When you try to install the plugin without having the
correct dependencies, the error message pops up mentioning the Qwt5
libs. But this is not the only dependency. In the OSGeo4W Advanced
Install you must choose both qwt5-libs and pyqwt5-qt4. It would be
worth mentioning both libs in the plugin error message.

Regards,
Micha
