You can also open CSV files with x, y columns through the VRT OGR's driver.

It depends how you store geometries inside the CSV I guess. Geometries as
WKT in CSV are displayed and can be edited.

Hi,

Some file formats are simply read but not writable. If that is the case with
the csv, just save it as a shape file. Then, when you are done, export it back
as a csv.

Are you sure?
If I open attached mini csv, I can load it in QGIS, but cannot edit
anything (not the attributes of current records), the little pencil to
edit cannot be activated with me (current master here).
Am I missing some info?

Sorry, I open the CSV from the browser. Not using the "text delimiter",
then you can edit/add features to the CSV.

Hi Etienne,

Thanks! But I cannot. :(

My "toggle editing" button is disabled. I imported the csv using the
"Delimited text layer' functionality.

This is the data I used:

x,y,v
138000,407000,a
138000,408000,b
139000,408000,c
139000,407000,d

Are you sure you exported your layer to a shapefile, after opening the
csv as a layer?

Cause QGIS cannot edit a csv attribute table.
