Re: [Qgis-user] Volume calculation - Reg
Just tried a few datasets in 3d faces and they triangulate beautifully in 3.16. For some reason need to import from dwg instead of dxf, or re-export to gpkg before the tool will let me use the intrinsic z data, but really works very nicely. Re: [Qgis-user] Volume calculation - Reg
Excellent, I hadn’t tried it since 3.16, will try again. Unfortunately the problem with using interpolation in model builder still seems like it might be difficult to fix. https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/issues/30029 Michael Dufty From: Vincent Cloarec Sent: Friday, 18 December 2020 9:55 PM To: Michael Dufty Cc: Nicolas Cadieux ; Abhi Shek ; qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org Subject: Re: [Qgis-user] Volume calculation - Reg TIN interpolation was improved in the 3.16 release. I’ve had major issues with the interpolation crashing QGIS if I try to used it with breaklines for complex imported data, but it seems to work OK for simple test geometries, and may be good for a simple excavation. I’d be interested to know if anyone has had success with interpolation using breaklines for more complex data, I’ve had to resort to other software trying to import DEM supplied as dxf 3d faces, but maybe I’m missing a basic step like fixing geometry or removing duplicates.
