[Ql-Users] QL on a stick
Dilwyn has kindly provided QL Today with a review copy of a QL on a stick. This is just the CD which you have to copy to your own USB memory stick. Would anyone be interested in doing a review for QL Today? Ideally we would like to publish in issue 2, which has a deadline of 15th November, Best wishes, Geoff ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

Re: [Ql-Users] Punters
It isn't very often that Quanta agrees with Geoff Wicks but the definitions in my Dictionary for the word punter includes the following: 'a person who gambles or lays a bet; a customer or client, a member of an audience; a participant in any activity' none of which are in any way derogatory. I can also offer the following words as having similar meaning: 'better, gamester, player, spectator, customer, buyer, shopper, client, patron, chap, person, individual, man (or woman) in the street. (Colloq - guy, Slang - geezer, bloke)' I would agree, Geoff that punter would describe the attendees of the event this weekend quite well.. (I admit that there may be other meanings of the word which have less polite meanings but if each word had to be analyzed before we used it in case we caused offence, we would probably stop speaking completely!!) - Its probably Just Words Great workshop and nice to see so many people there. See you all at the next one? Re: [Ql-Users] QL2K Update.
I just downloaded this update (I am a registered QL2K user). It seems to work OK on Windows XP. I like the fact that you can just set its speed as a multiple of QL speed in the startup menu (playing a fast game, set this to 1 to make it run at normal speed, want QL2K to run faster than a standard QL, set it to a higher value) rather than having to work out the speed value like you had to in QLay or QLay2. I haven't played much with it yet but it looks quite promising! -- Dilwyn Jones - Original Message - From: QL2K [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, October 06, 2007 2:49 PM Subject: [Ql-Users] QL2K Update. Here is a small tips too : When the emulation is running you can access to QL configuration dialog box (using menu QL / Configuration) and made changes in live of the Clock multiplier to set your QL quicker or slower. Re: [Ql-Users] Punters
I had no idea that the work punter was slightly offensive, nor that it would be used to refer to attendees. When I hear the the term, I just think about the position in American Football. Now, to punt has common usage, meaning to pass one to someone else. Tim Swenson ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm
