[Ql-Users] PCB Cad
Some users have reported difficulty with the latest zip file of Malcolm Lear's PCB Cad on the Graphics page on my website. In some cases it gave an error message amounting to last disk of the multidisk archive missing. This seems to have come about because it got corrupted being copied from one machine to another here on a pen drive. I've uploaded it again and it should be fine now. Apologies for the mistake. P Witte wrote, On 6/10/09 20:08: Any other DNA (National Dyslexic Association) members here, BTW? (If you missed the joke, the answer is Yes ;o) Not a member, nor is Ben. I forget his name, but a QLer, from Portsmouth I think, is. He was (is) responsible for the DAN website (got the joke . eventually). Anyway I told him that Ben had been diagnosed dsylexic - specifically the physical act of writing and other things. He was permitted to use a computer for exams, and it made a *huge* difference. He was able to finish them at last! He sent a checklist - If you can tick 5 or more then you are dyslexic in some way. I got to 6 immediately, and forgot Ben! Seven I was the only OK one. The latter ones were uncanny. The last was the killer. Good at lateral thinking and bad at rote learning. In general therefore not good at rote subjects like languages and history and arts subjects in general (except photography and art) - their brackets. That was *exactly* me at school, but dyslexia hadn't yet been 'invented' (8-)# I was always runner-up in science to John Barbara, who went on to head the London blood transfusion service. In the 5th form (just before sixth form!) I tried hard (in sciences that is) but was again pipped by JAJB. I though won the art prize (and chose a chemistry book as a prize). Oh yes, Sarah is as well, and didn't read or write effectively untul she was nine, but has two degrees. so poor Ben didn't stand a chance. He is now at Warwick studying computing. He is finding it very easy - and got a good first (of course) last year.
