[Ql-Users] Happy New Year
Hi Folks, At first I wish you all a Happy New Year ! I'm a bit surprised that there has been no comment about the QL Today issue 2 which I sent out middle of December - or was the post too slow to deliver before Xmas? [Ql-Users] Reindeer quiz - ANSWERS
I never said it would be a proper quiz by the way! * How many reindeer are employed by Santa? Two. * What are their names (Spelling need not be correct)? Rudolf and Olive. * What sex is the red nosed reindeer? Female. * Why do you say that? Only female reindeer keep their antlers throughout winter. Ok, maybe a bit of clarification is required for the answers to the first two questions above: Everyone knows abouit Rudolf, so that's one reindeer. The song of the same name has the words Olive, the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names - so that's two. No others are mentioned! ;-) So, two reindeer are in Santa's employ, Rudolf and Olive. ducks runs again Cheers, Norman. ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

Posties afraid of insanity obviously. (I feel a .ice file flying in my direction...) This from Wiki so it must be true (second verse) More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and call'd them by name: Now, Dasher! Now, Dancer! Now, Prancer, and Vixen! On, Comet! On, Cupid! On, Donder and Blitzen! of course a Scots Santa maybe didn't want to spend too much on dear Deer feed ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

Female. A female called Rudolf? * Why do you say that? Only female reindeer keep their antlers throughout winter. Actually, you can buy them down at the market over here. A media-savvy reindeer, as Santa's surely must be, would know that. All wildly off topic, of course ;o) All I said was that QLT hadnt arrived here in Norway, possibly due to one of the postman's reindeer having been eaten, and not even by me. I had nut roast, tho Ive no idea whose nuts. Bang! There probably went Olive. At least he'll have a sporting chance of keeping his antlers next year! ducks runs again Per (Eats shoots and leaves) ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

Norman said - This wouldn't happen in Scotland! ;-) but I can't resist the retort: No - because they would scotch it..! [I've waited nearly ten years for this revenge!] Happy new year to all, but especially to Norman. I'm still laarrrfing at all the reindeer stories. John in Wales Its raining. Re: [Ql-Users] Happy New Year
Hi Sjef, hope are well, or at least health is improving. Any chance for another Eindhoven meeting this year? And - I got a few more reports from QL Today which have already arrived, Germany and even France. And, even the mail to Canada to Jim Hunkins arrived BEFORE Xmas. I guess the post services in Europe have cut down their services over the years and are not able to handle christmas post properly anymore. There does not seem to be any logic behind who's received it and who hasn't. Oh, and, surprise, surprise, Deutsche Post has raised the postage for the magazine to any European destination except for Germany by only 13.33% as of yesterday. Well, somebody has to pay for the managers... Jochen sjef...@iae.nl wrote: Hi Folks, At first I wish you all a Happy New Year ! In my ideal world - strange as it may be - postage would be vastly reduced at Christmas in order to make it commensurate with the service received! In the Netherlands there is a reduction in posting fees during this time of the year. (29c, normal 34c, nov 17/ jan 6).
