Re: [Ql-Users] Missing Sinclair QL Software Titles

2010-03-15 Thread Neil Riley
Rich,
Whilst I remember a couple of those titles, I've already sent what I had to you
already.
( not that I'm hinting that you still have them, lol!)

Would be nice to see Crazy Painter again, I loved the Microdeal games for QL
and
Dragon 32. Anyone else remember Space War?

Good luck in your quest.

Neil

As some of you will no doubt know, I am trying to build up a repository
of all Sinclair QL titles - to include details on the QL Wiki and to
also be able to provide working copies of games to people who have the
originals, but sadly can no longer get them to work (or need a version
for an emulator)

However, there is a mass of software titles which I don't have copies of
and the list grows every time I pick up an old Sinclair QL World magazine.

Does anyone have working copies of the following (originals or backups -
disk version preferred, but microdrives will do):

There is a host of Sinclair QL items which are missing in action - does
anyone have any of this missing software, as we would like to preserve it:

Adventure Writer by Rodent Software
ANIMAL - Guess the animal game for Psion Archive
Art Master - a general drawing program from Micr_A_Soft
Crazy Painter by Microdeal
Design Board II - a 3D CAD program from Micr_A_Soft
Executive Adventure
Ferret by Sector Software
Fibu ?
FM by Datamanagement
Funfear by Talent
The Gee Gee System

Limited

2010-03-15 Thread Rich Mellor

Hi Neil,

Yes I still have your software - I am left with the titles I am
struggling to get off the microdrives! Not just copy protection - but
other issues, such as they load a specific sector after loading and use
that code, or the tape is unreadable!

Re: [Ql-Users] Missing Sinclair QL Software Titles

2010-03-15 Thread Neil Riley
Sounds like a tough job Rich, I guess finding some of the programs
will be an almost impossible task. Even if they are still in the wild, they're
likely to be hidden away in a loft somewhere, the cold won't do those
microdrives and favours. I store my Microdrives in my lounge
under the settee out of sight. At least it's reasonably warm there.

I've got plenty of 'stuff' which no longer loads so I hope you are successful
in your quest ( sounds a bit Hollywood but you get my drift ).

[Ql-Users] QL Today Volume 14 Issue 3 is on its way to all the readers

2010-03-15 Thread SMSQ - Jochen Merz

Hi everybody,

the current issue went to the post on Friday evening (for readers in
Germany) and this morning to all the other readers (mailed from here
in Austria). Let's see how fast it reaches you this time.

This time we added even more extra pages (you know, 32 pages were
planned when the pricing was done), but you can expect a massive 44
pages issue with very, very interesting articles :-))

Cheers Jochen
