[Ql-Users] uQLx 2017
uQLx 2017 A newly revised version of the Linux QL emulator uQLx (uQLx 2017) is now available. Graeme Gregory has "brutalised" (as he puts it on github) the sources to bring them up to date. New binaries are available for 32- and 64-bit x86 systems, as well as ARM (6/7/8). Includes binaries ready to run. Includes documentation from Timothy Swenson to get you started along with a small QXL.win file. The binaries are available to download from the emulators page on my website http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/emu/index.html#uQLx_for_Linux_etc. while the sources are available from the Sinclair QL Github at https://github.com/SinclairQL/uqlx-fork The sources are available from my website too in case of difficulty, but I recommend you get them from the github repository to make sure you get the latest sources. ___ QL-Users Mailing List
Re: [Ql-Users] WXQT2 alternative?
I have only sniffed at WXQT2 but ran into problems. It doesn't let me choose a DOS directory. It does that to me too if I try to select from a file selection menu. But if I manually type in the DOS (well, Windows) directory in the Options window it seems to work. Dilwyn ___ QL-Users Mailing List
Re: [Ql-Users] WXQT2 alternative?
during Q68 development, I'm using Jonathan Hudson's WXQT2 to access QXL.WIN container files under Linux/Windows. I experienced problems when writing "large" container files over 8 or 16 MB. Is this a known problem? Are there alternatives to WXQT2, i.e. other graphical frontends to exchange files between a PC and a QXL.WIN container? What is the maximum size of QXL.WIN containers? Thanks, Peter There is also a more recent tool QXLWIN by Norman Dunbar, see link. < https://sourceforge.net/projects/qxlwin/files/ > This 16MB seems outdated. I use 200MB wins myself but I have heard of bigger ones. Neither the QPC nor the SMSQ/E manual mention any MB limit. I use a 1GB qxl.win with my QPC2. But QemuLator cannot handle it - I have to copy files to a smaller qxl.win for that. Alain Haoui said while developing QubATA that 2GB unsigned is the maximum which can be handled by QDOS. I don't know if that applies to SMSQ/E and I don't know if it applies to qxl.win, sorry. I use WXQT2 and although it seems temperamental on Windows 7 (sometimes won't start, or when it does start it complains about not being able to find the help file) it seems to manage to copy files from the 1GB QXL.WIN to a native Windows folder for me. Updated sources for XTC68 cross-compiler for QDOS C68 for POSIX systems (e.g. Linux) is available from Jonathan Hudson on github (thanks to QL Forum’s XorA for the tip). https://github.com/stronnag/xtc68 I've put a copy of the master zip file onto the C page of my website under XTC68 in case it ever gets removed from github. http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/c/index.html ___ QL-Users Mailing List

Any idea to solve the problem? I can't reproduce your problem, sorry. Marcel Strangely I can. When run, the system hangs (padlock) so not a total crash. I did replace the DBAS inside LAUNCH with ENV_bin from the first code block, no point in doing DBAS twice. I do remember a long time ago I had a similar problem in my BOOT and Jochen Merz advised me to take the LRESPR out of the Proc, as Martyn Hill suggested. The question is if this is due to one of the extensions themselves or would any set of _bins give problems this way. Re: [Ql-Users] Problem loading extensions
Ciao Giorgio Some time ago, I observed and reported here a similar sounding issue whereby LRESPR would fail from within an SBasic PROCedure. Not all of them, but some. I resorted to loading the very same extensions outside of a procedure, without issue. Regards, Martyn Hill.
