Hi François,

I don't know if this will help you at all with this keyboard layout
problem. Tony Tebby's Language Dependent Modules article has notes on
setting up new keyboard layouts and so on, you can get this article from:
I know that many years ago I typed a long sbasic listing (from IQLR?)
and I still have it. I could dig it up for you .

It might be possible to use Wolfgang Lenerz's Clavier program to create
a new keyboard table for your keyboard:
That is what I did years ago for Windows XP. I chose 33 (France) in
QPC's configuration menu and used 'Clavier' to adapt the kbd-layout.
The problems popped up when I installed QPC (v3.34) on my new laptop
(Vista).

I haven't been following this thread too closely, so I don't know if
this email is truly appropriate for your programs, so I apologise if
this email is irrelevant.

It's was very helpful.
Thank you,

With QPC2, you just define the country in the set up and the keyboard
matches. In the USA, by setting this the keyboard is the North

Not long ago I put my QPC2 on a stick and took it to the US where I used
several machines including one with Vista. It worked OK except that under
Vista it was painfully slow.

I seem to remember that the keyboards in the States were not the same as in
the UK. I think they lacked a backslash. Anyway I had to get round that,
possibly by redefining a key or two for the QL.

Mine works fine in QPC under Vista, wish I could say the same about
it's use in Vista under Vista, I think it's because it's a
wireless connection it gets signals mixed up at times, could be my
typing though (;-)
If it helps at all it's listed as HID device in control panel -

You need to upgrade I think to run QPC under Vista. See Marcel's web site
for details.

Cheers,
Norman.

Hi Norman,
Upgrading to QPC vers.3.34 is the first thing I did and everything
seemed to be ok except for the keyboard. One key keeps autorepeating,
others return characters different from those on the keyboard and some
don't return anything (eg. right shift key) and finally some characters
are returned by 2 different keys.
I am using a Belgian keyboard (slightly different from the French AZERTY
keyboard) on my laptop and I have tried lots of keyboard layouts to no
avail.

The previous version of QPC (3.33) & Vista has the same keyboard
problems here. It could be a hardware problem after all.

Is there someone out there using a combination of Vista and QPC with an
AZERTY keyboard ?

Thanks for your help, Norman.
