Re: Re: qmail-spawn_unable_to_fork._
Hi Henning, thanks for your inputs >> >> I am getting qmail-spawn_unable_to_fork._ error on my qmail server > >This looks like a ressource limit issue. man ulimit, upper -n and -p. > I had been monitoring all the resources very closely ... the ulimit is unlimited ... More oftenly this problem occur due to exceeding max processes ..we are not crossing 150 process where as limits of process is 512 on Redhat linux .. we discussed this problem with developers and seems to be because Qmail not closing connection with LDAP server on port 389 cleanly .. hence we were seraching if any one has faced/fixed this problem ... any further inputs will be welcome ... thanks and regards Himanshu Kulkarni B202, Nirmal Tower, Mira Road (E), Dist. qmail-spawn_unable_to_fork._
Hi All I am getting qmail-spawn_unable_to_fork._ error on my qmail server ..which is running on Linux 2.2.12-20 we are user IBM LDAP Server which is running on a different RS6000 server with AIX as operating system . I serched thro' archieves of mailing list for this error. These mails suggest that this is error on Linux server However on mail server I have seen at any point of time the netstat shows me almost 100 connections with LDAP server in "TIME_WAIT" state ... against 10 odd connections in established state ... that means qmail server is unable to close the connection with LDAP server ... I am not getting any errors in error messages of Linux and in the maillog I am getting only above mentioned error ... i.e. qmail-spawn_unable_to_fork._ regards Himanshu Himanshu Kulkarni B202, Nirmal Tower, Mira Road (E), Dist. Concurrency connections
Title: Blank Hi We are running Qmail 1.03 with tcpserver on Linux 7.0 server. On this server I tried sending approximately to 80K mails to all our subscribers. For subscribers we are running ezmlm mail list. While transferring mail we were getting error "deferral:qmail-spawn_unabme_to_fork_(#4.3.0)" ... I thought we may be running short of Server resources, hence I checked the resources ... I had almost 129MB of RAM free and CPU utilization was as low as 12% ... also nms was showing ethernet card utilization as low as 4mbps (100Mbps ethernet card) when I changed "control/concurrencyremote" to "15" I could resolve the above mentioned problem , I searched on net and I could find one patch for concurrency connections ... however that patch is not required when I am running Qmail with LDAP any other suggestion or patch you can suggest ...??
