Even us hybrids who use both m$ and *nix with have half a brain know enough
not to open executables from untrusted senders. I watched the first mail
from Wilson come in yesterday afternoon and merely deleted it as I braced
myself for the inevitable responses from all the virus scanners out there.
Stuff like this happens often enough here.

I hope nobody out there was naive enough to have opened the file and became
infected.

Now we still haven't heard anything; does this list have an admin /
moderator? Why isn't it closed to off list subscribers and why doesn't it
 reject all attachments?

This is not a moderated list and I think D.B. is probably too busy solving
*real* problems to pay much attention to these minor annoyances from one of
the toys he's created. He probably is not even aware what's going on..

I understand that Free BSD and Linux are the overwhelming choices of

Actually, Linux and FreeBSD are the systems of choice in startup porn
companies because of their low cost. Once a company begins to move
major traffic they find that low cost systems have too many
limitations to handle what the leaders of the company want to do.
This is when they use their new found wealth to buy Solaris.

In case there is a problem figuring out exactly which address is

First of all, with the extraordinarily long signature, I doubt if you
will receive very much help from most of this list. I seem to
remember you being chastised about this in an earlier post. Forgive
me if I am mistaking you for another, but use another sig file when
posting for tech support. You won't appear nearly so lame.

Secondly, and more to your request, this is not the best list to post
that question. [EMAIL PROTECTED] is much better. For best results,
include more specific information about the problem. Excerpts from
the applicable log files to show what the box is doing really helps
the helpers help you.

Delete the queue and rebuild it. A good tool for that is queue-fix.

Drew Hawn [EMAIL PROTECTED] asked:

Thanks. I'll check it out. How can I decode the tai64 format? I
can't
tell when this problem is still occurring.

There is a program called tai64nlocal that decodes the timestamps.
