Is it safe to recompile and install qmail after patching.
On a production environment is it safe to patch qmail source and make setup check once again. Any precautions should be taken ? Thanks.

You should shut down all qmail services before doing a "make setup", otherwise some programs might not be installable due to "Text file busy". \Maex

Just so that you know, I would also recommend doing 'make', stopping the mail service, then doing 'make setup check' -- *** Matthew H Patterson Unix Systems Administrator National Support Center, LLC Naperville, Illinois, USA ***

Yes, stop qmail while doing 'make setup check', and make sure your patches don't break anything. Applying the big-todo patch onto a production environment is not trivial, for example. Greetz, Peter.
