yes of course.. why just put msx in the thrash and use qmail for all
[dont look at my mime header, iam using outlook XP as mail client ]

install a "normal" qmail installation as described in life with qmail
www.lifewithqmail.org i think, and then setup a smart host or something
similar in the
ms exchange config. Then add an smtproute in your qmail config to the
exchange server
e voila :)

I plan to have a SMTP proxy that using qmail. Our main mail server is MS 
Exchange that not secure enough for SMTP gateway.
 
Would you give me suggestion what should I install ? and what configuration 
should I do?

Hi there,

I´m involved in the task of installing and configuring an SMTP proxy to
redirect mail between a Lotus server and the Internet; I´m imposed to use
Lotus, but I do not feel like exposing that kind of server to the Internet,
so I need to put a Qmail server to route mail between Internet and Lotus.

Have been reviewing he documentation and I like it very much, but I´m a
little new to this so I suppose that I need a little redirection to the
correct place. Is enough a mini-qmail installation for this task?. Any
security concern?. Any tip would be more than appreciated as I´m a little
lost.

SMTP-proxy and qmail

Hi

I run qmail as mail server SW. When I configured my Watchguard Firewall
II to use SMTP proxy
a lot of mails stayed in the queue, and I got "connection died" in the
maillog. The
problem arised when MX-records pointed to a "closed" server. I don't now
why, but
qmail never tried the other servers according to MX-records?

If I delete the SMTP proxy, and only alow traffic on port 25 this works
fine.
