[qmailtoaster] SPF - Yahoo Bulk - Hotmail Junk

2006-07-05 Thread bb.
HI,

WE MADE TEST AT:

http://www.dnsstuff.com/pages/spf.htm

WE GOT A RESULT LIKE:

SPF lookup of sender [EMAIL PROTECTED] from IP
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:

SPF string used: v=spf1 a mx.

Processing SPF string: v=spf1 a mx.
Testing 'a' on IP=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, target domain
x.net, CIDR 32, default=PASS. MATCH!
Testing 'mx' on IP=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, target domain
x.net, CIDR 32, default=PASS.

Result: PASS

---

When we send to Yahoo, they take our emails to Bulk
and also Hotmail puts to Junk. I use Yahoo for
Qmail-Toaster-List and for couple days i see ALL
Toaster mails in Bulk.

Is our SPF record wrong or must we change something?

Thanks to God and to you.

Re: [qmailtoaster] SPF - Yahoo Bulk - Hotmail Junk

2006-07-05 Thread bb.
Thank you all but it is not solved.

I made a Reverse DNS lookup at dnsstuff.com, got
answer like at bottom of page:

---

Answer:
206.225.82.xxx PTR record:
206-225-82-xxx.dedicated.abac.net. [TTL 43200s]
[A=206.225.82.xxx]

To see the reverse DNS traversal, to make sure that
all DNS servers are reporting the correct results, you
can Click Here.

---

After click for the next page, i got the result:

---

Getting NS record list at f.root-servers.net... Done!
Looking up at the 0 206.in-addr.arpa. parent server:
...

Status: Records all match.

Looking up at the 0 82.225.206.in-addr.arpa. parent
server:
...

Status: Records all match.

---

I may provide more info but an interesting point is:

Also the below 2 emails on this topic sent to
qmail-toaster-list put to Bulk in my Yahoo mailbox.

If i have something missed, but it seems you have the
same problem?

Thank you...

If you have a valid reverse DNS, SPF record, and domainkeys record then
you will need to contact the admins at Yahoo and Hotmail to see why they
are blocking the messages. You may be able to glean some more info from
the headers of the messages sent to the Bulk folder (they may be failing
some rule over there, which SHOULD be in the header). Otherwise, we can

Nobody has written one yet. You can get the info from the logs (some of
it), and that's about the best that can be done to date as far as I know.

cat current | grep [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Will show you the messages by a specific user for the timeframe. If you
look at the smtp logs, that will be what they received. Look at the send
logs for what they have sent.

Additionally I was curious about how qmail formats its logs
my smtp log is prefixed with lines similar to this @400044ac8e6d2406bd7c on

What you have found is
the tai64 timestamp.

cat
/var/log/qmail/send/current | tai64nlocal

There are several tools
that can be used to convert these records to common log
format.

google +qmail +log
+common +log +format

question regarding qmail log files.
I get timeout errors in outlook to
my mail server regularly – I was wondering if anyone else has gotten similar
errors and if there’s something that can be done to resolve
it.

I use IMAP – the error is ‘A timeout
occurred while communicating with mail.domain.net. The connection has been
closed.’

Additionally I was curious about how
qmail formats its logs – my smtp log is prefixed with lines similar to this
@400044ac8e6d2406bd7c on almost every line (although they are unique).
Is there any information in regards to this formatting – does it it mean
anything? Is there anyway the logs can be formatted in a standard
date/time – if not how can one go back and find specific instances that happened
in previous days if there is no date/time listed in the
logs?

Maybe I’m missing something there, I
welcome any insight in regards to these issues
though.

Thanks
guys,

Jon

Nobody has written one yet. You can get the info from the logs (some ofit), and that's about the best that can be done to date as far as I know.cat current | grep
[EMAIL PROTECTED]Will show you the messages by a specific user for the timeframe. If youlook at the smtp logs, that will be what they received. Look at the sendlogs for what they have sent.
