this is how I am upgrade clamav
how to upgrade clamav into latest version
- download clamav source from qmailtoaster website or devel site
- rebuild it (I am using centos 4 64bit)
 rpmbuild --rebuild --with cnt4064 clamav-toaster-x.x.x-y.y.y.src.rpm
- goto /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/x86_64/ and look for
clamav-toaster-x.x.x-y.y.y.x86_64.rpm

- stop qmail and heartbeat before install it
- rpm -Uvh clamav-toaster-x.x.x-y.y.y.x86_64.rpm
- before running qmail again make sure no qmail process is running
 qmailctl stat
kill that process or restart the server
- start qmail again
 qmailctl cdb
 qmailctl start

[qmailtoaster] automtically forward emails from Primary Server to Secondary Server

2007-08-27 Thread Gabriel Lai
Hello all,

I have an idea of setup that need further help in getting it done.

I have setup a Primary Mail Server, and a Secondary Server.

Site A - Primary Server
Site B - Backup Server

When primary Server in Site A receives all the emails, how can I forward
specific emails to Backup Server automatically?

As some list of users are in Site B, therefore we would like to forward the
users from Primary Server to the Backup Server automatically?

Some users are in Site A, some of the users are in Site B. They are receiving
emails through POP3 SMTP. But because of the traffic in Site B are very huge,
we would like them to get their emails from the Backup Server in Site B, and
send out email directly from Site B Backup Server.

How can we do this?

You can use smtproutes. Check http://wiki.qmailtoaster.com/index.php/Smtproutes

I'm having some difficulty with mail being rejected due to SPF/SRS
issues. It looks like I need to reconfigure chkuser as described at
http://wiki.qmailtoaster.com/index.php/Chkuser.

I have some concerns about this process.

Does it just update chkuser? The name of the package (qmail-toaster)
suggests it will affect qmail also.

rpm -U suggests that the package will be upgraded. Is there a danger
of the upgraded package not being compatible with the rest of the system?

I don't want to lose any of my current configuration. Do I need to
back up config files before going through this process?

I would make a backup. I've never heard of anything going wrong, but
I'm sure that if someone doesn't make a backup that's when Murphy will
appear.
The process on the wiki will update all packages with qmail-* in the
filename - if you don't download the new packages, it will just use the
ones currently on hand. This is because (if I remember correctly) some
of the other packages need to be rebuild if modifying the chkuser patch.
But I'll say it again - always backup. Make a copy of your current
qmail RPM packages and save them somewhere safe as well.

For what it's worth-

I run my toasters in VMWare vm's. I went through this process last
week. By way of backup, I created a snapshot before proceeding.

The process does not appear to have changed any of my settings other
than what I changed in the chkuser_settings.h file.

I'll be removing the snapshots today as otherwise all seems well with
the toasters.

I installed the necessary qmail therefore to adjust to check and to hold

How I can proceed?
Exists some form of I to edit an archive and to inform that that shipper
