[qmailtoaster] 554 qmail-dk: Cannot sign message due to invalid message syntax

2009-08-20 Thread Kaven Gagnon
Hi,

I got problems with domain keys... some mail servers such as GMail return
error message like this:

Remote host said: 554 qmail-dk: Cannot sign message due to invalid message
syntax. (#5.3.0).

I tried to replace the qmail queue shortcut with qmail-queue.orig instead
of qmail-dk without success.

Any idea?

Thanks regards,
Kaven G.

2009-08-20 Thread Eric Shubert
Need some more info Kaven. What you've written doesn't make sense to me.
Why would a gmail server return a message saying it can't be signed? The
remote server wouldn't be signing the message. What's missing?

There is a symlink involved so file copy won't work.  The best way to
do it is here:

[qmailtoaster] Scan and Filter Mails Downloaded by fetchmail

2009-08-20 Thread amit IKF
Hi Everyone,

How can I filter all my mails whether they are incoming emails, outgoing
emails or emails downloaded by fetchmail for spam or virus before delivering
the mail?
Another issue is I'm unable to see clamd status in headers for my incoming
emails?

Thanks and regards,

Amit

In the tcp.smtp file, there is a difference between your local stuff
(127.) and the rest.

The line after 127.: says: no scanning
Fetchmail is seen as local, therefore it is not scanned.

Remove the 127.: line (or start it with a #) and qmailctl cdb should
do the job.

That didn't solved the problem. Even I added Qmailqueue=

H,

I had the same problem (fetchmail mail is not scanned). I changed my
tcp.smtp to:

127.:allow,RELAYCLIENT=,QMAILQUEUE=/var/qmail/bin/simscan,DKSIGN=/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private,RBLSMTPD=,
   NOP0FCHECK=1

192.:allow,QMAILQUEUE=/var/qmail/bin/simscan,DKSIGN=/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private,RBLSMTPD=,NOP0FCHECK=1

:allow,BADMIMETYPE=,BADLOADERTYPE=M,CHKUSER_RCPTLIMIT=50,CHKUSER_WRONGRCPTLIMIT=10,QMAILQUEUE=/var/qmail/bin/simsc
   an,DKSIGN=/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private,NOP0FCHECK=1

Fetchmail is catched by the 192.: line.

Perhaps the Qmailqueue should be QMAILQUEUE?

Richard Vinke

ps I turned of my e-mail notification now. sorry for bothering the list.

[qmailtoaster] Distro Question

2009-08-20 Thread Mike Canty
I have a Red Hat machine here, for Samba and some other services. I have
also recently installed a Qmail Toaster machine using CentOS 5.3. I am
very happy with both.

However at another site I am looking to put in a similar system, but all on
one machine. I will be using VMware so I can separate if necessary, or can
I install Qmail Toaster on RHEL5?

Thanks in advance
Mike Canty

Qmailtoaster is developed on CentOS 5, which is RHEL with the logos and
support stripped out. It will work seamlessly. Just use the CentOS flags
when compiling.

Jake,
Thank you. Yes I knew CentOS is really RedHat, but I just wanted to
know that some elements were not omitted. Now that I know, excellent.

Can you please elaborate on the Just use the CentOS flags. Could you give
me an example.

Cheers

I run toasters on VMware Server 2. Personally, I'd keep them separate.
Samba is usually better suited to a lan, while the toaster is on the
wan. They should be on separate subnets for security reasons. You could
use 2 nics (one facing out, the other in), but that can be risky and
troublesome.

I have a few setups I've done on a VMware Server 2 with IPCop, QMT, and
samba guests all (3) running on the same host, with the toaster on a
hostonly subnet, and the samba server bridged to green. You can bridge
the red directly to the external nic on the host without giving it an
address on the host. That way the host is only accessible from the green
network, unless you set up a VPN of course. I think it's a pretty slick
configuration.
