That's really hard to say given what you've said so far. I think it's
safe to say though that your script is overwhelming your toaster.

The errors that you've shown tell us nothing about what the QMT server
is doing. How many messages do you expect to queue up? What is the size
of each email? How much disk space is free on your toaster? From the
little bit you've said, it sounds like perhaps the toaster is running
out of space for the queue.

Looks ok to me. Did you edit it with a DOS program perhaps (giving it a

I would do the same as JP. Each client configuration would need to
change
as well to reflect the changed domain name, which would be a simpler
change

with an alias domain. I'm not sure how Squirrel Mail might handle this
though, in case there are any webmail users.

Just curious, how many accounts are there?

Not that I've ever seen.

Should I put the IP address there instead of a host and

I wouldn't. That bit on the wiki about putting the IP address in the me

use a name that correctly resolves with DNS you should be fine.

can't do that since you haven't told me your domain name.

If you
# telnet my.mailserver.com 25
what do you see after the 220? That should be your fully qualified
host name (followed by QMT identification stuff). Change the value in
/var/qmail/control/smtpgreeting to contain your fully qualified host

to restart qmail after changing this file (qmailctl restart).

I don't think putting the word me in any file works.

However, I am not sure about rcpthosts (it currently has the two

Any advice would be most appreciated.

[qmailtoaster] qmailtoaster-plus-0.3.1-1.4.14 released

2009-10-03 Thread Eric Shubert
I'm happy to announce the next release of qmailtoaster-plus! This is a
fairly major release.

First and foremost, the qmailtoaster-plus.repo package has been
expanded. It now includes repositories for each distro/version to
provide the FUSE packages required by the updated qtp-newmodel. While it
is usually a good idea to run

# yum update
before running qtp-newmodel, you *must* minimally run
# yum update qmailtoaster-plus.repo
before running the new qtp-newmodel with a unionfs sandbox.
If you don't do this update, you'll see:
Error getting repository data for qtp-CentOS, repository not found
qtp-mount-sandbox - installation of dependent packages failed
qtp-mount-sandbox - is your qmailtoaster-plus.repo package up to date?

Secondly, the unionfs sandbox used by qtp-newmodel has been totally
revamped. It now runs with FUSE (Filesystem in USErspace), so it doesn't
need to be rebuilt whenever the kernel is updated. This is compatible
now with newer kernels (Fedora 10,11), and has been implemented in older
kernels (2.6.9+) with the help of the dkms and dkms-fuse packages. All
of the details are handled automatically by the qtp-mount-sandbox
script, which is invoked by qtp-newmodel (and can be run from the CLI
FWIW). If you're running CentOS, be sure to be patient when dkms-fuse is
installing. It takes a bit of time because it builds a kernel module
during the post install process.

The unionfs sandbox has not been tested on Suse or Mandriva. I expect
there will be a few things that need to be done to get it working, but
it shouldn't be difficult, as the pieces are all in place. If one of you
who is running Suse or Mandriva would like to test this functionality,
please contact me.

The other fairly big change is that the qtp-extraclam script has been
replaced with a new qtp-install-sanesecurity script. This script
downloads and installs the current version of the script which maintains
the extra clamav databases. When a new version becomes available, you
can simply rerun qtp-install-sanesecurity to get the latest version.

There are other minor enhancements as well. qtp-newmodel now lets you
select packages for re-install, and it also displays the last 10 lines
of the log file if/when there's a build error. See the release notes for
any other little things I may have missed in this announcement.

As always, please post to the list with any questions or comments.

Please post your new tcp.smtp file so we can be sure the format is correct.

How do I fix the perl + SA issue?

You are missing:
QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/simscan",NOP0FCHECK="1"
variables in the 2nd line of the tcp.smtp file. Don't forget to
"qmailctl cdb" after this file is changed.

You don't really need the first (127.:) line at all in this file either.
That's only used for apps running on the same server that might be
submitting email via port 25 without authenticating (e.g. Squirrelmail,
at least the way it's presently configured on the toaster).

First things first.

SA should work ok w/out that particular perl module. It just won't be
able to evaluate a rule or 2. See if the server is at least scanning
now. You should see simscan messages in the smtp log.

Once it's scanning, we'll tackle the other (very little) problem.

Please post name/contents of whitelist configuration for spamdyke. That
should have worked.

BTW, a better solution would be to use port 587 for submission from that
client.

I would do the same as JP. Each client configuration would need to
change as well to reflect the changed domain name, which would be a
simpler change with an alias domain. I'm not sure how SquirrelMail might
handle this though, in case there are any webmail users.

Just curious, how many accounts are there?

Jean-Paul van de Plasse wrote:

Hi,

Easy way : add an alias to the domain ~vpopmail/bin/vaddaliasdomain
Hard way : add new domain, with mysql select all from old domain table

domainname, and check all .qmail files for the domain for its paths (am
sure I am forgetting some bits there)

Simple said I would just add an alias..

This way you`ll not have to change anything on server side.

A problem, not *the* problem. I believe that there are 2 (at least)

problems here.

True. Although fixing this problem does not mean that SA will begin

working. ;) (simscan isn't being invoked, so neither will SA be invoked)

Good advice, in general.

Re: [qmailtoaster] Create New domain from existing

2009-10-03 Thread Jean-Paul van de Plasse

Hi,

Easy way : add an alias to the domain ~vpopmail/bin/vaddaliasdomain
Hard way : add new domain, with mysql select all from old domain table
into new domain table, change paths and move the folder to the new
domainname, and check all .qmail files for the domain for its paths
(am sure I am forgetting some bits there)

Simple said I would just add an alias..
