[qmailtoaster] Delayed Email Received on my Server

2009-12-08 Thread Malvin M. Rito
Hi List,

I have just setup my QmailToaster Server and encounter several problems, few
of them are as follows:

1. Receiving emails from an external Domain is being delayed but using
local domain is excellent.

2. When an external domain send large attachment to any email on my
domain the attachment is converted to a DAT file and append the filename on
the email subject line.

Your help will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Malvin

1. Receiving emails from an external Domain is being delayed but using

May be an issue with DNS setup. Please check this with dig command. What are
the RBL s used. Try to send a test mail via telnet. following link may be
helpful to do that.

Thanks and Regards,

but it's grown by other's effort since then.

Thanks for the contribution!

We need more information on your configuration and what you mean by
slow. Sometimes other servers just send slow - they hold the mail for
a few minutes before sending it.
If you installed Spamdyke and enabled greylisting, that would also
account for the slow receives.
You really need to quantify what slow is and what your setup is before
we can really give you more advice.

For number 2, that will be a function with Outlook. If you send the
attachment and view it in webmail, it should show as correct unless the
sending user's Outlook is mangling the attachment on their end.

I think there's an article on the wiki about this. Definetely in the
archives if you search.
Basically you need to set up a VirtualHost on your machine for the
domain (mail.domain.com) and use Squirrelmail's html directory as the
document root.

Are you asking to scan all emails, both incoming and outgoing?
This was covered in the archives. It involves modifying your tcp.smtp file.
Search the archive for all the details. If it's not already on the wiki,
maybe something that would be worth adding.

Hi

You can find the plugin here: http://squirrelmail.org/plugin_view.php?id=234
When logged in to squirrelmail, go to OPtions Account Administration
You will be asked for the current password and can then change password, set
forwarders or autoresponders.

This plugin is in squirrelmail-toaster already.
Log into Squirrelmail (http://your-server/webmail)
Once logged in, click Options at the top. Then click Account
Administration, and enter your password again.

From there you can change your password, edit your vacation message, etc.
If you're not using the squirrelmail-toaster package but a squirrelmail
package from somewhere else then you will need to add the plugin and
configure everything yourself.

Is there a list somewhere of the plugins that are included in

like the patches for qmail-toaster are listed.
