[qmailtoaster] Email testing service

2010-01-31 Thread Jake Vickers

Just realized that I had not posted this on the users mailing list -
I wrote a quick email-test script that you can send emails to and get a
quick report back on some of your email health. This is the first
draft of the script and more checks/features will be added in the
future. Here is an example output:

Qmailtoaster.com Email Message Report
-

This message is from the qmailtoaster.com email test service
(email-t...@qmailtoaster.com).
This service is used to give users an automated response to perform simple
checks on their email and DNS configurations. The emails sent to this
service's address are processed by a script that checks email headers and
other email related information and returns a response email report to the
original sender. These tests should not be considered authorative, and

results may be returned from cached DNS information.

-

Message was not considered spam.
(Note: This will vary from server to server, and from message to message!)
Here are the spamassassin headers from this server:
No, score=2.7 required=5.0 tests=AWL,DK_SIGNED,DK_VERIFIED,
RDNS_NONE,TVD_SPACE_RATIO autolearn=no version=3.2.5

Return path was: Jake Vickers j...@v2gnu.com
Original test request was sent using: Thunderbird 2.0.0.23 (X11/20090817)

SPF Record: PASS
Sent from a valid domain: PASS
DomainKey: PASS

You can use this service by sending an email to
email-t...@qmailtoaster.com and within a few seconds a reply will be sent.

Enjoy!

I tested the new script by send a test mail at email-t...@qmailtoaster.com
but I got a negative response

SPF Record: PASS

Sent from a valid domain: PASS

On the other hand when I send any mail to yahoo or gmail who checks for SPF,
DomainKeys and DKIM all tests are passed by test messages.
