Re: [qmailtoaster] Gmail as smarthost

Hi Bharath,

You can not use Gmail as Smarthost since Gmail automatically replaces
Sender Id to the email id used for smarthost.

Amit

You (or someone) might be able to modify taps to do this.

While it's totally outside the scope of email procols (at least as
they're defined), I sorta like the idea. I like the idea of
client-controlled server-side filters. This might be a kind of extension
to that.

Not really anything you can do with timeout, as it's the sender who is

What are your scan times looking like?
How many messages are being scanned concurrently?
A sampling of your spamd log would help to answer these questions.

Hi,

I recently can see an increase amount of duplicate e-mails on my

After searching through the archive, I found out that
SpamAssassin/ClamAV are to blame.

SpamAssassin - 3.2.5 and ClamAV - 0.95.3
Is there any ready to go script to monitor spamassassin/ClamAV to
know which is causing the problem?
I do have DNBL checks which may network time out problems as well.
What is the standard time out and

where do I change it? Any advice on time-out please?

Not really anything you can do with timeout, as it's the sender who is
timing out because your QMT is taking too long to scan.

What are your scan times looking like?
How many messages are being scanned concurrently?
A sampling of your spamd log would help to answer these questions.

Not really anything you can do with timeout, as it's the sender who is
timing out because your QMT is taking too long to scan.

What are your scan times looking like?
How many messages are being scanned concurrently?
A sampling of your spamd log would help to answer these questions.

I am also running Qmailtoaster at a Linode VPS (360Mb) so memory is my
issue.

Any recommendation/tuning advice/ideas welcome!

Are you running spamdyke? If not, installing it will lighten the load on
your host because there will be a lot less to scan. Spamdyke typically
rejects 80+% of messages before they're even received.

Alex

Search the archives. This was covered within the last two weeks, along with
a patch that resolves the issue. I'd send the e-mails, but don't have them
on hand, but they should be in the archives.

[qmailtoaster] Spamdyke problem

2010-04-01 Thread Darrell Booth

Hi

My mailserver installed with qmailtoaster has been working without issue
for 3 months.

It is now running very slow when accepting emails for transmission.

When I do a ps -ef command I see the following multiple times:

vpopmail 24313 2321 0 13:46 ?00:00:00 /usr/local/bin/spamdyke
--config-file /etc/spamdyke/spamdyke.conf /var/qmail/bin/qmail-s

vpopmail 24314 24313 0 13:46 ?00:00:00 [qmail-smtpd]
vpopmail 25449 2321 0 14:50 ?00:00:00 /usr/local/bin/spamdyke
--config-file /etc/spamdyke/spamdyke.conf /var/qmail/bin/qmail-s

vpopmail 25450 25449 0 14:50 ?00:00:00 [qmail-smtpd]
vpopmail 25999 2321 0 15:29 ?00:00:00 /usr/local/bin/spamdyke
--config-file /etc/spamdyke/spamdyke.conf /var/qmail/bin/qmail-s

vpopmail 26001 25999 0 15:29 ?00:00:00 [qmail-smtpd]
vpopmail 26734 2321 0 16:11 ?00:00:00 /usr/local/bin/spamdyke
--config-file /etc/spamdyke/spamdyke.conf /var/qmail/bin/qmail-s

vpopmail 26736 26734 0 16:11 ?00:00:00 [qmail-smtpd]
vpopmail 27603 2321 0 17:09 ?00:00:00 /usr/local/bin/spamdyke
--config-file /etc/spamdyke/spamdyke.conf /var/qmail/bin/qmail-s

vpopmail 27604 27603 0 17:09 ?00:00:00 [qmail-smtpd]

Can anyone please give me some clues as to what might be causing this issue.

I have made no changes to the configuration files recently.

I restarted the server to clear the problem and it occurred again within
24 hours

Thanks

Darrell

Ok, try the following:
In your database vpopmail.dir_control, column cur_users what value do
you have against domain you are trying to modify?

if this is 2147483647, then change it for 0 (zero) and see if it helps.
