Re: [qmailtoaster] clamav-toaster-0.96.4-1.3.39 upgrade

2010-12-14 Thread Amit Dalia
Just update today and even I find the same issue.

LibClamAV Warning: Detected duplicate databases

Freshclam service is also stopped.

After upgrading to clamav-toaster-0.96.4-1.3.39 using qtp-newmodel,
I
see this in the clamd log:
12-13 11:51:28 LibClamAV Warning: Detected duplicate databases
 /usr/share/clamav/main.cvd and /usr/share/clamav/main.cld. The
/usr/share/clamav/main.cvd database is older and will not be
loaded,
you should manually remove it from the database directory.

 In /usr/share/clamav/ I have this:
 -rw-r--r-- 1 clamav clamav 65422336 Nov 14 10:12 main.cld
 -rw-r--r-- 1 clamav clamav 22906487 Dec 13 10:55 main.cvd
The main.cvd file appears to have come from the upgrade, given the
 date/time stamp.

I also notice that freshclam is not running.

I renamed both files, started freshclam, and in a few minutes a
fresh
 main.cvd file appeared.

Then I see this in the clamd log:
12-13 12:16:14 LibClamAV Warning: Detected duplicate databases
 /usr/share/clamav/daily.cvd and /usr/share/clamav/daily.cld, please
 manually remove one of them

I renamed both files, restarted freshclam, and in a few minutes a
 fresh daily.cvd file appeared.

I gather from this that the cvd file is preferred, and the cld file
is
an older format. Can someone confirm this?

I have 2 things I'd like to resolve. First is, I think it'd be nice
if
the spec file would take care of cleaning up the .cld files
automatically. I expect they can be simply removed. The upgrade
would
revert to a slightly older main.cvd file, but that would be taken
care
of in short time by freshclam.

The 2nd thing is, I wonder why freshclam wasn't (re)started
successfully with the upgrade. It started fine with a service
freshclam start command. Has anyone noticed freshclam not running
 after the upgrade?

I believe that won't affect QMT pkgs at all. A few weeks ago someone on
the list downgraded their QMT from 5.3 to 5.2 with no problem. Shouldn't
need to rebuild anything either.

Just out of curiosity, which repository to you intend to get your
php-5.3.4 package from?

2010-12-14 Thread Richard Baxant
It's not for development, but so that I can use phpMyAdmin 3.x.x and its
MySQL replication component for my vpopmail database.

I am currently testing it on a VM and no issue with qcontrol or the
admin-toaster. Need to still test SquirrelMail.

 That's certainly bleeding edge. ;) Fedora14 is at php-5.3.3. I'd be
cautious if this is a production server. QMT's use of php isn't very
elaborate though, so I expect it'd be ok.

I'm not familiar off hand with php development, so others will know better
than I do about this. It'd be nice to hear from someone else about this.

FWIW, I think it's good practice to run web apps on a separate host from
QMT. I run webmail on a separate (virtual) host. I don't see much advantage
to running other QMT/php packages on a separate host though, as they're only
 used for administration.

It's presently available in the mirrors. Once it's been out for a little
while and a few people have installed it (manually), Jake will add it to
the current.txt file and the main site, which will make it available to
qtp-newmodel (and qtp-ami-up2date). I expect that will happen in the
next few days.
