RE: [qmailtoaster] Re: Migration to new server

2011-07-19 Thread Michael J. Colvin
Search through the archives... A couple months ago, I posted a link to a
script that will migrate all e-mail from one server to another using IMAP.
It will create any needed folders, etc, on the new server via IMAP. Just
supply a file with a list of e-mail login's, passwords, the source server
and destination, and let it go...

If you can't find it in the archive, let me know and I'll look through links
and see if I can find it.

 Dovecot's pretty forgiving. If the files it needs aren't there, it'll
 build/repair them on the fly. I expect the worst case would be that you
 might need to re-subscribe to folders using your client(s).

Re: [qmailtoaster] CentOS 6 / RHEL 6

2011-07-19 Thread Digital Instruments
I wrote, a couple of weeks ago, something to Erik about the
short_open_tag problem.
Basically, since it's a PHP_DIR configuration option, you can add in
.htaccess file of the toaster-admin folder short_open_tag = 1

This will change short_open_tag behavior only in toaster-admin folder.

[qmailtoaster] Issues with viewing a domain in toaster using vqadmin

Hi folks,

Open a domain in QMT web interface using vqadmin and the domain page is blank?
Other domain are fine but several are simply blank!
However using the Modify Email Account editor will return email settings for
domains that cannot be viewed!

[qmailtoaster] Re: Issues with viewing a domain in toaster using vqadmin

2011-07-19 Thread Eric Shubert
Correct. vqadmin is usually ok for viewing things, but it has a problem
with creating domains. This problem might be fixed with an upgrade to
vpopmail v5.4.33, but that's not certain. The upgrade of vpopmail will
happen with QMTv2 at the latest. Perhaps earlier, but I'm not aware of
anyone working on it presently. This would be a nice upgrade to have, as
it will probably fix user quotas as well.

That code was all written back when PHP 4.3 was current, and there have
been very little changes made to it since then. I'd be grateful if
someone would submit a patch to make any coding changes to allow this to
work with CentOS 6. If not, it is low on my list to correct at this

[qmailtoaster] Dovecot installation

2011-07-19 Thread Jack Martin
I am building a new toaster and am opting for Dovecot. I am using the
wiki for the directions. I found this:
begin cut---
Dovecot POP3

In order to use dovecot for POP3 as well as IMAP, you need to stop the
qmail pop3 service, and configure dovecot to handle it.

# cd /var/qmail/control/supervise
# touch pop3/down pop3/log/down
# touch pop3-ssl/down pop3-ssl/log/down
# service qmail stop
# service qmail start

Then edit /etc/dovecot/toaster.conf, adding pop3 to the protocols parameter:

protocols = imap pop3

and restart dovecot:

# service dovecot restart

That should do it.

I haven't done this personally, so if someone can verify this, please
remove this line from the wiki once you've done so.

end cut---

The first step fails - cd: /var/qmail/control/supervise: No such file or
directory. My question is, where is the correct location, and should I
even change it to allow Dovecot to handle pop3?

The issue was still present in version 1.2.15-1.3.9.

I believe I've fixed the issue, at least for my installation. I had to modify
version 1.2.15 qmailadmin's user.c around line 962 as follows:

  if ( (strcmp (cforward, forward) != 0) || saveacopy ) {

if (strcmp (cforward, blackhole) == 0) {

  fprintf (fs, # delete\n);

  emptydotqmail = 0;

} else if (spam_check == 1) {

#ifdef MODIFY_SPAM_NEED_EMAIL

   fprintf(fs, %s %s@%s\n, SPAM_COMMAND, ActionUser, Domain);

#else

  fprintf (fs, %s\n, SPAM_COMMAND);

#endif

  emptydotqmail = 0;

} else {

  if ( saveacopy ) {

fprintf (fs, %s/ MAILDIR /\n, vpw-pw_dir);

/* this isn't enough to consider the .qmail file non-empty */

  }

}

  }

 vacation message turned off via qmailadmin:

 duplicate messages persist

 .qmail contains:

 |/var/qmail/bin/preline /usr/bin/maildrop -A 'Content-Filter:

 maildrop-toaster' /etc/mail/mailfilter

Thanks - please open a bug ticket on this. I can't remember if I checked

to see if the upstream package fixed this or not.

[qmailtoaster] Re: Dovecot installation

2011-07-19 Thread Eric Shubert

That's a mistake on my part. The pertinent directory is:
/var/qmail/supervise/
*not* /var/qmail/control/supervise/.

Would you care to make the correction on the wiki?
TIA.

I am building a new toaster and am opting for Dovecot. I am using the

begin cut---
Dovecot POP3

In order to use dovecot for POP3 as well as IMAP, you need to stop the
qmail pop3 service, and configure dovecot to handle it.

# cd /var/qmail/control/supervise
# touch pop3/down pop3/log/down
# touch pop3-ssl/down pop3-ssl/log/down
# service qmail stop
# service qmail start

Then edit /etc/dovecot/toaster.conf, adding pop3 to the protocols parameter:

protocols = imap pop3

and restart dovecot:

# service dovecot restart

That should do it.

I haven't done this personally, so if someone can verify this, please
remove this line from the wiki once you've done so.

end cut---

The first step fails - cd: /var/qmail/control/supervise: No such file or
directory. My question is, where is the correct location, and should I
even change it to allow Dovecot to handle pop3?

Re: [qmailtoaster] Users Mailbox

2011-07-19 Thread Phil Leinhauser

These both look like great wiki fodder for the hints and tips
section!  Could you add them for us?

Thanks!

 Answerd my own question:
 Eric , I modified your scrip, to
give the domain total size, Then I
 can use your
original script on an individual domain, to find the culprit

with the huge mail box:

 Modified script:

#!/bin/bash

 #

 # Domain disk use
-- Written by Eric C. Broch

 #

#domain=yourdomain.com

directory=/home/vpopmail/domains/

directories=/home/vpopmail/domains/*

 if [
$1 !=  ]

 then

 if [ -d $directory/$1 ]

 then

 du -sh $directory/$1

 else

echo No such user: $1

 fi

 exit 0

 fi

 for file in
$directories

 do

 if [ -d $file
]

 then

 echo

 du -sh $file

 fi

 done

 du -sh $directory

exit 0

 Thanks again
