Subject: [qmailtoaster] New face of QmailToaster-Plus

Fresh for the fall season and October 1st, Eric Shubes has been working
hard on a new face for QmailToaster-Plus (qtp.qmailtoaster.com). You
may recall that the site at one time was using Trac, but we switched
back to the PHP site when we ran into some issues. Eric has wanted to
get the site back into Trac for a while now and has been diligently
working on this for a couple weeks.
The result? The site is up and running with the new face. There's a ton
more features for the site now. Registered users can submit bug tickets
(and track them) as well as feature requests. You can browse the source,
see comments on changes, etc. Lots of new stuff for you to check out.
The repo will continue to work as it always has, so don't worry there.
Come on over and check the new site out!

Re: [qmailtoaster] relaying in Centos5

2008-08-14 Thread Gaby Kule
Hi All, I can finally send emails using sumbission port (587).

I can not send email with SMTP port cause this doesn´t check vckpw-smtp. I
still don´t know why. It still doesn´t log vckpw-smtp in maillog. So, I´ll
use submission, but with my CentOS 5 installation thats my only choice.

I had to increase softlimit in sumbission run script also.

thanks and best regards
Gabriel

Hi all, I increassed (more) the smtp softlimit from 85000... to 185000... I
think that was the problem. Apparently It could not load the vckpw process
dinamically but no message was logged.
Now I have a new error (error 554 from spanhaus). (DENIED_RBL_MATCH) I´ll
check this.

Are you trying to send from a dynamic IP address? That would most likely be
blocked. Try sending on port 587.

Hi All, Mario is good Help.

I have oulook express configured with authentication for smtp, but I saw
that maillog is not logging

vchkpw-smtp: (PLAIN) login success

is only logging

vchkpw-pop3: (PLAIN) login success

so I think SMTP-AUTH is not working, but I can not find how to enable this
in the server.

This is my /var/qmail/supervise/smtp/run (I had to increase softlimit after
normal installation):

#!/bin/sh

SMTPD=/var/qmail/bin/qmail-smtpd
TCP_CDB=/etc/tcprules.d/tcp.smtp.cdb
HOSTNAME=`hostname`
VCHKPW=/home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw
REQUIRE_AUTH=0

exec /usr/bin/softlimit -m 8500 \
 /usr/bin/tcpserver -v -R -H -l $HOSTNAME -x $TCP_CDB -c $MAXSMTPD \
 -u $QMAILDUID -g $NOFILESGID 0 smtp \

TTBOMK, forwards are the same as aliases. It's just the toaster's way of
handling this. Were you expecting something that aliases can do that
forwards don't?

Re: [qmailtoaster] MS Outlook Theme on Squirrelmail

2007-02-16 Thread Gaby Kule
I had the same problem installing this last week. A blank page in the left
frame, but if you see with detail in the html code, is has a blank word that
says - ERROR.
I think it problem was made after using conf.pl, but Im not sure.
I solved this replacing the config.php with config_default.php and changing
this with an editor. Maybe some item from conf.pl has an error but Im not sure

Yea Scott, I found that the Left Frame of Folders List doesn't seems to
appear. Some settings n config got to do on it.
So far, this is the problem I face. Maybe in future QT will use this as the
default Squirrelmail theme?

The qmailadmin plugin, plugged right in. Just copied from my QT squirrelmail
to this one.

Be aware of the attachment directory and user preferences. They are
different in QT than to this version.

By example, Im not using Mysql on my old box

This is what I think I must do, I have a clean new installation :

a.. backs up control and configuration files
 a.. stops qmail
a.. invokes qtp-remove-pkgs to remove certain packages that need to be
 removed
a.. upgrades the packages with a single rpm -Uvh command
a.. restores control and configuration files
a.. invokes qtp-convert to do conversion processing:
   a.. mrtg file changes
   b.. mysql password location change
 a.. starts qmail
 a.. runs spamassassin debug configuration

Look at my backup script (v2gnu.com) - it will show you what files need
 to be backed up.
You'll also want to read the script, since it has notes in there that
can be helpful. I'd also look at the restore script, since it will show
you things like changing permissions on files, etc.

Good points, Jake. Even though he can't use it directly, it should show him
what needs to be looked at.

I don't know of any free ones. If you find any, be sure to let us know. :)

I seem to recall some skins for about $30 or so though. Not outrageous.
Check the list archive if you're interested.

Gaby,
You should be using one of:
# Mandrake 10.0 Linux mdk100
# Mandrake 10.1 Linux mdk101
# Mandriva 2005 Linux mdk102
# Mandriva 2006 Linux mdk2006

# Mandriva 2007 Linux mdv2007

If you install qmailtoaster-plus (see wiki) you can run
# qtp-whatami
and it will tell you what settings to use.

Re: [qmailtoaster] Installation problems

Im just using Mandriva cause Im more familiar with Mandrake (just this).
Im using 2006 cause Mandriva 2007 installs Mysql5 by default and I dont want
this.
I installed qtp and saw that I have i686 and I did some configurations for
i585, maybe thats my compilation problem. Ill try to install it on Mandriva,
and if I cant Ill install CentOS.

CentOS 4.x is the recomended OS for qmailtoaster ? is the one that
toaster-team-tests more ?

I thought so, but now I'm not sure. I see that mdk103-install-script.sh was
changed just a few weeks ago, and it has DISTRO=mdk103, so I'm guessing now
that this is what you want. Looks like I need to change the qtp-whatami
script.

Looks like DISTRO=mkd103 is the right setting (from looking at the .spec
files).

Not necessarily, but there are some neat things there you'll probably want.

does it install the last qmailtoaster version ?

Yes, but it's looking like qtp-whatami will need a tweak in order to do
Mandy'06.

I dont know what to do now ...

Use CentOS. (just kidding, but if it's an option, go with it)

EE, what's up with Mandriva? Did we go back to the mdk10* numbers instead of
the mdv20* numbers? Is Mandriva 2007 not available?

Re: [qmailtoaster] Installation problems

2007-02-05 Thread Gaby Kule
MessageThanks Jack, wich hardware do you use ?

I have problems compiling courier-imap-toaster on mandriva 2006/i585, but with
i686 hardware (so it says qtp)
I did not find specific i686 rpms for solving dependencies on Mandriva site or
RPM Search site, so I can not solve ths problem with my knowledge. I think
that my i585 rpms should work anywhere, but I searched for the compiling
message on the web and there is and old bug on gcc that comes from gcc 4.1.1
and its supouse that this was solved on bindutils new releases, but it still
happends on my installation.
I tried with mdk102 parameters and it had the same results.

Ill try with CentOs 4.x, on i686 hardware. Did you tested on this hardware Eric
?
If its needed any test with Mandriva, Ill not format my Mandriva installation
on this week. Just ask me.

deps needed that were not in the script. I do seem to recall it was
courier-imap was one of the ones that did not want to load. There were a few
others as well. Off the top of my head I am unsure which ones they were (it
has been a couple of months). Hope that helps some.
