[qmailtoaster] question about packages

2010-04-15 Thread Michiel van Es | Info.nl

Hello,

I am new to the list and want to say that I am really happy with the
qmail toaster packages and setup.
I was wondering, since all packages are registered under the GPL, is not
to provide SRPM's but RPM's and perhaps even a yum repository?

It has a lot of advantages:

- easy installation and dependency checks
- easy way to keep your packages up to date, now you have to check the
qmailtoaster page or your /admin-toaster/ link to check if there are any
updates.

I like pre packaged packages and an easy way to keep them up to date.
A Yum repository would be an outcome.

It would make the installation of Qmail toaster a lot easier and easier
to maintain for packagers.

kindly help me understabd the above log

Nope. the log said, the server is opening port 25 for incoming
connection (email) from IP 173.233.212.7
what email? perhaps it spam. have you check your
/var/qmail/control/blacklists file? mine is
  -r zen.spamhaus.org

to prevent more spam, please install spamdyke.

Instead of using 5 diffirent software packages running 1 functionality,
you could better intall an SPAM proxy like ASSP:

http://assp.sourceforge.net/

It has all the features like Qmail toaster and more..I never install any
spam measures in my MTA , I want to keep it clean and let the spam proxy
on port 25 do all the work for me.

The upcoming v2 of QMT will be yum based. In the meantime, qtp-newmodel
makes upgrading relatively simple.

That sounds terrific! :)
