[qmailtoaster] TRAC error?...

2015-07-25 Thread Richard Whittaker
Trying to run qtp-newmodel, and was getting errors, so I thought to
reload my QMT repo with:

rpm -Uvh http://qtp.qmailtoaster.com/trac/downloads/1

...I get the error:

Retrieving http://qtp.qmailtoaster.com/trac/downloads/1
error: skipping http://qtp.qmailtoaster.com/trac/downloads/1 - transfer
failed - Unknown or unexpected error

warning: u 0x8a3c128 ctrl 0x8a3cf68 nrefs != 0 (qtp.qmailtoaster.com http)
...

So when I past the above URL into my browser, I get:

*Trac detected an internal error:*

OperationalError: database is locked

Did I miss something, and did the update process change?..

Thanks,
Richard.

So it looks like the trac internal error went away, so I have, I think
installed the correct repository:

Upon reflection, I should provide some context as to what I am trying to
do.

So, reading further on the mailing list, I see qtp-newmodel is no longer
supported for updates, and I am trying to update dovecot on a QTP

So I did some more digging on this, and realized the IP 192.168.0.4
reverse resolved to more than one hostname, so I thought that might be
part of the problem. I removed the second hostname from the reverse

knew would resolve back to. No joy.

mysql GRANT REPLICATION SLAVE ON *.* TO 'mail1_user'@'defiant.avits.ca'

mysql FLUSH PRIVILEGES;

Client connections work just fine from the same IP, and with the same
username/password combo as the replication account.

[qmailtoaster] MYSQL replication question.

2014-04-11 Thread Richard Whittaker

Hi.

I'm following Jake's video on setting up a replicating toaster setup,
and have hit a pretty solid brick wall, and can't figure out how to get
around it.

I have the 2 MySQL servers setup, and running. Replication seems to be
working fine in one direction, but not in the other.

The slave thread on server1 fails with this error:

140411 15:02:27 [ERROR] Slave I/O thread: error connecting to master
'mail1_user@192.168.64.4:3306': Error: 'Access denied for user
'mail1_user'@'mail.avits.ca' (using password: YES)' errno: 1045
retry-time: 60  retries: 86400

I know the grants on server2 are setup on the target database. I have
tried specific IP address and wildcard, and neither has worked.

mysql show grants for mail1_user;
+--+
| Grants for mail1_user@% |
+--+
| GRANT REPLICATION SLAVE ON *.* TO 'mail1_user'@'%' IDENTIFIED BY
PASSWORD 'blah' |

+--+
1 row in set (0.00 sec)

mysql show grants for mail1_user@192.168.0.4;
++
| Grants for mail1_user@192.168.0.4 |
++
| GRANT REPLICATION SLAVE ON *.* TO 'mail1_user'@'192.168.0.4'
IDENTIFIED BY PASSWORD 'blah' |

++
1 row in set (0.00 sec)

I can connect using the MySQL client as the use mail1_user and that
password with no issues.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Thanks,
Richard.

I have a few mailing lists, and when messages hit the mailing lists, I

Hey Dan:

I would be willing to help on this front as well. I will need to double check
my gateway server config as I cant remember if I have DNS services running on
the external interface. Will let you know in the morning, and will be good to
go by the afternoon.

Subject: [qmailtoaster] QMT Project - DNS Refresh
Date: Sun, Mar 10, 2013 20:33
Greetings all QMT lovers!

As I approach the finish line on the Mirror Refresh Project (we
should be back up to 9 or even 10 mirrors very soon now), I'm going
to start a new project: Over the past year or so, we've had some
attrition in our DNS server ranks. As a result, I'm asking for
some fresh blood -- volunteers to help act as DNS
servers for the QMT project.

Background:

The QMT project deploys a widely diversified DNS infrastructure...
as such, the load on any one server is very VERY minimal.

Our goal in setting this up was to have DNS servers all around the
world, and so we have them named by continent:

dns-na = North America

dns-eu = Europe

dns-as = Asia

dns-af = Africa

dns-sa = South America

(We currently have no participants from Australia [dns-au] or
Antarctica [dns-an] -- and I honestly wouldn't expect the latter!)

Like the mirrors, we assign numbers to each specific server -- so
there is a dns-na1, dns-na2, dns-eu1, etc...

Originally, we had 5 NA sites, 3 EU sites, 2 sites each in AS and
AF, and 1 site in SA... However, we are currently down to 3 NA, 3
EU, and 1 each for AS, AF, SA.

While I'm not worried yet (9 concurrent DNS servers is still
sizable), it should be pointed out that both Bharath and I supply 2
DNS servers each so the loss of either one of us would be a 20+%
loss to the project. Therefore, I am asking for volunteers to
get us back up to the 12-15 sites we originally envisioned.

What's required:

To volunteer, you need to have a stable Linux server on a
static IP address (behind a NAT firewall is fine), you should be
running BIND 9 or 10, and you need to have both UDP and TCP
ports 53 opened on your firewall (UDP packets are used for DNS
queries, TCP connections are used for update notifications and
subsequent zone transfers).

The configs are very easy -- and the actual zone file is downloaded
(synched) from a main server. However, we do limit who can do a full
zone transfer, and so like with the mirror volunteers, you'll need
to let us know to add you to the permission list before we can get
you fully setup.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER, please write to me DIRECTLY
(do not reply to the list!). The address is q...@it4soho.com.

Thanks for reading!

Use spamdyke (highly recommended) or port 587.

OK, thanks. I will give Spamdyke a try, as I would much prefer that to
opening up port 587.

One question about 587, does that still use authentication?..

Thanks muchly,

[qmailtoaster] SMTP Auth overrides RBL.

2013-02-05 Thread Richard Whittaker

Hi.

I have run into an issue where I am trying to send e-mail from my mobile
phone, on the mobile network, but several of the NAT addresses for the
mobile network show up on the Spamhaus Composite Blacklist for
virus/worm/trojan infections, and this is causing my E-mails to fail. Is
there a way I can setup Qmail to bypass the RBLs for sessions that are
authenticated?

Thanks,
