[qmailtoaster] Backup and Restore Scripts

2009-03-23 Thread Ron Horist
Hello All,

I am running on an somewhat old version of qmailtoaster on CentOS 4.3 and
want to move it to CentOS 5.2 running on VMWare. However I can not seem
to find the lastest Backup and Restore Scripts.

Can anyone tell me where I am able to download them?

Thanks.

[qmailtoaster] What file do I modify for inbound SMTP traffic?

2007-11-14 Thread Ron Horist
I need to setup my qmail toaster so that it only accepts inbound SMTP
traffic from a certain Network and Subnet. What file do I modify for this
and what is the syntax does it need?

Thanks..

Re: [qmailtoaster] How to config squirrel

2006-07-11 Thread Ron Horist
As I know that I can run config.pl to config the squirrel.

When I run the configuration program, I see all the config in the setup
 page are blank.

Most likely what your issue is that it defaults to displaying in color and
you are viewing on a black and white. When you run the config, hit the
letter c, this will turn the color off and then you can see everything.

How can I config. the squirrel webmail such as adding plugin...

 Thanks

[qmailtoaster] Fedora 5 help

2006-06-26 Thread Ron Horist
I am trying to setup the lastest QmailToaster on Fedora 5. My issue is
that in the deps script it removes the libtool-ltdl however in removing
this it will then mess up GNOME desktop, it removes a few rpm's that GNOME
needs. But the courier-authlib-toaster will not install with the
libtool-ltdl installed. Is there any kind of work around so that I can
install the courier-authlib and also have access to GNOME?

Thanks...

Re: [qmailtoaster] Fedora 5 help

2006-06-26 Thread Ron Horist
Erik,

Yes I do agree that a mail server shouldn't have a desktop, but sometimes
it is easier to do things in the GUI instead of the CLI. Well I guess I
will just have to live without GNOME.

Thanks for all your help.

Ron

 Hello Ron,

The system is not meant to run on a desktop with Gnome installed.Your
best bet is to use VMware Player for the QmailToaster,

You may be able to get away with installing courier-authlib-toaster
with '--force --nodeps' and see if that allows you to have both
 installed.

 Thanks,
 Erik

[qmailtoaster] Multiple Email Servers

2006-05-09 Thread Ron Horist
I have a problem which really doesn't have to do with Qmail Toaster, but I
was hoping someone on the list may be able to help me with this.

I already have Qmail Toaster up and running just fine. I have it running
with two domains already(using the virtual domains). However I want to
add a 3rd domain, but do not want to run it on the current Qmail Toaster
machine. I want to run it on its own machine.

Here is what I currently have:

1. DSL with a 1 static IP address using PPPoe to connect to the ISP.
2. DSL Router that forwards the mail ports to the active Qmail Server.

According to my DSL provider, I can get multiple IP address, but due to
the fact that I connect with PPPoe I can only have 1 router that
authenticates. So in reality Multiple Static IP's won't do me any good,
true? Now one thing I have tried to find was a Router that allows
multiple DMZ, but haven't found any. I do not want to have the second
server use non standard ports.

I hope this all makes sense. Does anyone have any idea's on how I could
make this work with either one static ip or with a router that allows
multiple DMZ zones?

Thanks...

Re: [qmailtoaster] Change admin password

2005-12-21 Thread Ron Horist
I am having the same issue. I change the password on the first page, but
it does not update it. Besides using the CLI, anyone else figure out why
this is happening??

Thanks,

 Fajar,

Your Web-Browser (FireFox, is my bet) is probably the culprit here.
It's asking you whether you want to update the web-browser's built-in
password manager for the website you're visiting, with the username
'admin' and the password you're changing.

At least, that's what it looks like to me.

Thanks Joseph, looks like it is Firefox weirdness.
But when I use Konqueror, I still cannot change the password. It looks
successful, but the password isn't changed.

Anyway, finally I use the CLI:
 htpasswd -bc /usr/share/toaster/include/admin.htpasswd admin mypassword

 Hmm...,

Re: [qmailtoaster] simscan help

2005-11-17 Thread Ron Horist
The issue is that for some reason the install created a directory called
bayes under the .spammassissin directory. You need to delete the
directory and then create a file called bayes.

touch bayes

Then do as Jake suggests.

 Richardus Alim wrote:

Hi Robert.. Thx a lot!
it's working smoothly after follow your advice

but I've 1 problem left and it was already issued in mailing-list
in my /var/log/qmail/spamd/current there's error say:

warn: config: SpamAssassin failed to parse line,
/root/.spamassassin/bayes is not valid for bayes_path, skipping:
bayes_path /root/.spamassassin/bayes

I've reinstalled spamassassin but still the same
I've checked the directory path and it's there /root/.spamassassin/bayes

Any advice ?

chmod 600 the files in there, and make sure /root has chmod a+x applied

[qmailtoaster] Spamassassin Error

2005-10-26 Thread Ron Horist
I accidentally moved the /root/.spamassassin directory to my trash.
Hovever I copied it back. Now when I run:

spamassassin -D --lint

I get the following warning:

warn: config: SpamAssassin failed to parse line,
/root/.spamassassin/bayes is not valid for bayes_path, skipping:
bayes_path /root/.spamassassin/bayes

My question is I think it restored ok, however I am wondering what the
permissions should be? Right the .spamassassin and all other directories
and files under it are root:root. Is this correct?

This is a new install on FC4.

Thanks...

Re: [qmailtoaster] Toaster on FC4 issue

2005-10-17 Thread Ron Horist
Nick,

Great that did it.. Couple of things. One I did it using the 32bit not
the 64. Also, you may want to change the:

edit current-install-script.sh and set DISTRO=cnt40

to:

edit current-install-script.sh and set DISTRO=fdr40

So it doesn't confuse anyone. Isn't this correct?

Thanks...

I have just installed the toaster on FC4. Everything is just fine until
 I
get to where I need to create the Self signed certificate. First the
directory /usr/share/ssl/certs/ does not exist on FC4. Can anyone tell
 me
where to find this so I can do the make stunnel.pem

Also is there any other issues anyone has come across running it on FC4?
I can not run CentOS 4, like I wanted too, due to the fact it has an
 issue
while running as a Guest under Vmware GSX...

 Thanks

 Hi,

 Look at /etc/pki/tls/certs/

Here is some stuff I just put together:

Fedora Core 4 x86_64 QmailToaster Install

Test Box: MSI K8T Neo, AMD Athlon64 3400+, 1GB Ram, 120GB Samsung IDE
 Drive
 Nick Hemmesch - October 15, 2005

'''Build QmailToaster with, or without, GUI Support'''

 1. Download Fedora Core 4 x86_64 CD iso's 1 thru 4, or the DVD iso.

 2. Use the install option, Custom

Disk partitioning: (120gig) /home gets 80 gig and / gets the rest.

SELinux: disabled

 3. Packages, select only the following groups:

X Windows (With GUI support)

KDE - unselect graphics, artwork, pim (With GUI support)

Graphical Internet - select only Firefox and Thunderbird (With GUI
 support)

Sound Video: select only cdrecord, dvd-rw-tools, and mkisofs
(With GUI support, also select k3b)

Server Configuration Tools

Web Server: add php-mysql to the defaults

DNS Name Server

FTP Server

MySQL Database: add mysql-bench, mysql-server to the defaults

Development Tools: add expect to the defaults

Compatibility Arch Development Support:

Administration Tools:

System Tools: add mrtg to the defaults

 4. After the package installation:

mkdir /usr/src/qtms-install
cd /usr/src/qtms-install

wget http://www.qmailtoaster.com/info/fdr40-deps.sh

sh fdr40-deps.sh
(this will take a while)

After fdr40-deps.sh is finished:

yum -y update
(this will take a while too)

REBOOT

 5. Prepare to Install QmailToaster:

wget http://www.qmailtoaster.com/qtms/qtms-svcs.sh
wget http://www.qmailtoaster.com/qtms/firewall.sh.bz2

nano -w qtms-svcs.sh
edit MYSQLPW=your-mysql-password
ctl-o and enter to save
ctl-x to exit

bunzip2 firewall.sh.bz2
nano -w firewall.sh
edit MYIP=your-IP-address
ctl-o and enter to save
ctl-x to exit

sh qtms-svcs.sh

This script turns on or off all necessary services. Then the script
 sets
up your mysql root account, creates and grants privileges for your
 vpopmail
mysql account, makes a symlink so your krb5 is read properly, edits
 your
php.ini, sets inittab to start at runlevel 3, and sets up your
 firewall.

Note: You might see some service errors while the script runs,
don't worry about them.

 6. Get QmailToaster Packages:

wget http://www.qmailtoaster.com/info/current-download-script.sh

sh current-dowmload-script.sh

This script downloads all necessary packages into you current
directory (should be /usr/src/qtms-install/).

 7. Install QmailToaster Packages:

wget http://www.qmailtoaster.com/info/current-install-script.sh

edit current-install-script.sh and set DISTRO=cnt40 and ARCH=i386

sh current-install-script.sh

This script installs the latest zlib and the qmailtoaster packages
(This will take quite a while)

 8. Make a self signed certificate:

cd /etc/pki/tls/certs/
make stunnel.pem

Note: common name should be your FQDN server.your-domain.com

mv stunnel.pem /var/qmail/control/servercert.pem
chown root:qmail /var/qmail/control/servercert.pem
chmod 644 /var/qmail/control/servercert.pem
/ln -s /var/qmail/control/servercert.pem
 /var/qmail/control/clientcert.pem

REBOOT

 9. Setup QmailToaster:

qmailctl stat

(Should look somewhat like this)

   [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# qmailctl stat
clamd: up (pid 2425) 65 seconds
   imap4: up (pid 2421) 65 seconds
   imap4-ssl: up (pid 2423) 65 seconds
