I am currently running on Fedora 5 but i am planning to move my mailserver to Centos 5.3 . I guess backup sciprt and restore scripts will do the job for me to migrate current mailboxes to the new installation??? Hmm. I wonder if the new clamav doesn't work with the older Fedora. You may ask on their list. Yes, the backup and restore scripts in QTP (qtp.qmailtoaster.com) will backup your system and restore it so that you can move to new hardware or a different OS.
[qmailtoaster] Clamav 0.95.1 update issue
Hi All, I updated clamav-toaster 3 days back to new version clamav-toaster-0.95.1-1.3.27 and today all of sudden my mail server stopped responding. I logged in and couldnt find any thing abnormal untill i restarted the qmail services and it prompted that there is not enough space to started th services. I looked everywhere but couldn't find anything space consuming in any folder untill i entered the /tmp folder which was full of clamav tmp folder which were created due to freshclam. Why these folder are not getting deleted once the update is completed?? Why is it downloading entire database again (main.cvd)? I there something wrong with this new version. For now i have reverted back to the previous version and its working fine. Please guide me. You should have a LOT more in your logs. If that's all you show, then your freshclam cannot contact any of the update servers to download the .cdiff files to update main.cvd and is downloading the whole thing again. Check your firewall rules. Also check for the existence of the daily.cvd file. Did you make any changes to freshclam's config file? You may also try reinstalling the new version, since you're the only one that has reported any problems out of 323 downloads. Maybe someone else can chime in a few tips - otherwise I'd suggest you go ask over at the clamav mailing lists and see if anyone there offers any suggestions.
Re: [qmailtoaster] Clamav 0.95.1 update issue
Dear Jakes, I have installed the lastest rpm 3 days before only and before that i was using clamav-toaster-0.94.2-1.3.24 and everything was just fine till that day. I came to know bout this problem today only when my server stopped responding and when i check it found that there was not space left on the hard drive. Earlier my mail server was using 39 GB and today whole 260 GB HDD was full just because of the clamav update file download files accumulated in the /tmp folder. There were more then 1000 folders in tmp dir and all of them were having around 60 mb of main.cvd and daily.cvd files. After deleting all those tmp folder everything started working asusual. I`ll reinstall it today and let you know. Is it fine to install the new updated version using fdr50-install-script.sh script?? Whenever new updates are availabe i usually un-install the older versions maually and then install newer version using script mentioned above. Is it correct to install this way?? Re: [qmailtoaster] Clamav 0.95.1 update issue
The best (and easiest) way to update QMT is with the qtp-newmodel script.
