Regards, Rajamani This is most likely a problem with dns resolution. Do you have a caching nameserver (resolver) installed on your QMT host? What do you have in your /etc/resolv.conf file? You should be able to confirm DNS issues by telnetting to the IP address instead of the domain name. CJ, I don't think you're quite understanding this. The slowness caused by a dns problem on QMT is because dns queries are done by QMT as part of the smtp connection initiation (rbl and rdns lookups). Using the IP address to connect to QMT doesn't change this and would still be slow.
