RE: [qmailtoaster] Qmail Domain Setup

2012-08-13 Thread Biju Jose
Hi Vijay,

You need to setup DNS records for the domain, this is usually done at the
registrar's control panel.

You need to have an A record like mail.yourdomain.com , your webmail will be at
mail.yourdomain.com/webmail

And an MX record pointing to mail.yourdomain.com

Subject: [qmailtoaster] Qmail Domain Setup

All Qmail Experts,

I have posted my query on many forums, and again posting in Qmailing
List. Hope that i will get answer of my query.
I have setup Qmail Server on CentOS release 5.8 by following steps as
given on
http://wiki.qmailtoaster.com/index.php/CentOS_5_QmailToaster_Install.
The e-mail server is working fine. This server is hosted on Linode Cloud.
I am accessing my server by IP Address. I want to access it by URL like
mail.yahoo.com or gmail.com. I have a registered domain name at
http://197.domains.stargate.com.

How can set my hostname and domain control panel MX setting? Ask me if
you need further detail.

With Warm Wishes,

Vijay Thakur

Re: [qmailtoaster] Qmail Domain Setup

2012-08-13 Thread Vijay Thakur
Thanks Thanassis, I have checked the doamin status. I am getting error
in some sections as given below:

Recursive Queries: I could use the nameservers listed below to performe
recursive queries. It may be that I am wrong but the chances of that are
low. You should not have nameservers that allow recursive queries as
this will allow almost anyone to use your nameservers and can cause
problems. Problem record(s) are:

*208.91.1x7.7x*
*199.x79.6x1.7*

MX Records: Oh well, I did not detect any MX records so you probably
don't have any and if you know you should have then they may be missing
at your nameservers!

How can i override the these errors.

With Thanks

Vijay Thakur
