I think these were the networks I ended up banning because they had so
many grinders running on them. Not all are Chinese: the 195.x are Czech,
the 62.x are Polish, and the 193.x are in Latvia, so consider carefully
before casting them into the Outer Darkness.

Hi Jake,

Sorry if my question is too stupid. If a domain is in a shared
environment, how can we set the rDNS?

Not a stupid question at all. I looked for the answer to that one for
hours when I first started - and still never got it answered completely.
As long as the system's hostname (obtained by running hostname --fqdn)
matches your rDNS you should be good for 99% of the servers out there.
Most only require that you have *some* type of entry that does not look
like an ISP generated entry to function.
For example, I have 9 domains on this server, but as long as my rDNS
matches mail.qmailtoaster.com (the machine's hostname) and has a
corresponding A record then everything should work as planned.

I often wondered this myself but just never got around to researching it or
getting it set up properly. Thanks for the explanation!

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at [protected domain]
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

e...@shubes.net:
User and password not set, continuing without authentication.
97.124.27.36 does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 421 Refused. You have no reverse DNS entry.
Giving up on 97.124.27.36.
I'm not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long.

I'm sure Eric will see your message here, but you also need to set up
reverse DNS with your ISP. You'll find that most mail services will
reject your mail because you do not have rDNS set up.
