Hi Greg,
My doctor could not see my wounds at his office. So I take pictures and
either email or take them when I go for a visit.

Kathy, that is a very creative idea. Mind if I copy that idea and share it
with others?

RE: [QUAD-L] 30 Days

2008-06-14 Thread Mark Jackson
Yeah I liked how he had a $60,000 truck and complained how inaccessible his
house was, maybe he should've spent that money a little wiser but I probably
would've done the same thing because a cool truck is better than a cool
bathroom lol!

I did like the show especially how he got paranoid when he first got in the
chair and thought people were stairing at him, which they were.

Well reviewed, Greg. Thought it was a great intro lesson.

I thought that “30 Days” show with that football player trying to be in a
chair for 30 days was actually one pretty well. Of course they did not get
into really personal stuff, but it was a good start for an introductory
lesson of life in a chair. They left out a lot of the harder things, but a
good lesson 1. Now just another 9 lessons.

[QUAD-L] Supra Pubic Irritation

2008-06-14 Thread Merrill
I remember this thread awhile back but the subject is now a problem of mine.
The surrounding area is very irritated and red, really hurts bad. It has
been two years post of having it which was not all that bad. My doctor says
to rotate where it is taped to my abdomen but the entire area is a red ring.
Help?

Kathy made suggestion earlier regarding picture, email and the use of the
internet. Take a picture of the damage and email to your doctor. Then the
ball will be in his court.

I don't tape mine in place. Clean it with Betadine place a 4 x 4 gauze pad
between the skin the tube.

Re: [QUAD-L] Bed Sore

2008-06-14 Thread Jim Lubin
I get that on occasion. When it open up we put a Tegaderm Transparent
Dressing until it heals. Once it closes up we tried varies creams,
some worked for awhile but it started breaking down again. We finally
found one that has been working very well, Jason Natural Cosmetics
Vitamin E Creme. Rub it on the area in the morning before getting
dressed and again at night when I get in bed.

I got a sore on my butt. Not as deep as the one I had a few months
ago, but wider. It's maybe 1 ½ by ¾ but it looks a lot more like a

It's not on the regular (butt) bed sore area, it's in the crease of
my butt/thigh. Anyone get a sore there? I just do not see how
sitting gets pressure there…

Thanks,
Greg
